David’s Comment: Another Year Closer to the Return of Yeshua
Luke 21:28 When you see these things coming to pass, look up for your redemption is near

This coming Tuesday night is the last night of the Gregorian calendar year 2019. And what a year it was, with a continual stream of dramatic events feeding the BREAKING NEWS slots on the major news networks. In the first half of 2019 we saw a marked increase of military activity between Israel and Iran, with a real threat of a full scale war breaking out before the Israeli elections in April. The election failed to produce a new government, so Israelis had to plan for 2nd election in 12 months in September. The Brexit debacle continued in the UK, while Europe and much of the World watched on and shook their heads in disbelief, as the British politicians argued over, and failed to follow the democratic decision of the majority to leave the European Union.

The second half of the year saw the rise of violent anti-government demonstrations in Hong Kong, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Chile, and a brief 3 day conflict between Hamas and terror groups in Gaza, in which 500 plus rockets were fired at Southern Israel, and soon after, another failed Israeli general election. The year began to wind down with disastrous fires in Australia, the impeachment of President Trump, the indictment of PM Netanyahu, and a decisive victory for UK PM Boris Johnson, giving him a fresh mandate to push through Brexit by the end of January.

Throughout 2019, the moral code of much of the world continued to degenerate, with millions of unborn babies being murdered, the same sex perversion slithering its demonic way into every area of our one half-decent societies, even being promoted to very young, once innocent children. The most liberal nations are now moving to legalise ‘mercy killings and Euthenasia. I their Satanically inspired lust to replace the real Creator, scientists are very close to cloning humans with robotic machines. The world can not sink too much lower, and surely the LORD is running out of patience, mercy and grace.

The climate change protestors claim that the situation of extreme temperatures, both hot and cold is man made, but I have serious doubts. Perhaps the use of fossil fuel may have a small effect on the planet’s climate, but the world has experienced dramatic fluctuations in temperatures, way before man began to drive cars and fly around the world in aeroplanes. Could it be that the Creator of the Universe is using the weather to bring judgment on a world that is in rebellion against Him and His Torah (instructions) ?

The situation in much of the Western Church is also rapidly deteriorating. I heard recently that in the annual national conference of a large US denomination, one of the main leaders held up his Bible and declared “my life will no longer be restrained by the 4 corners of this book, – it is time for a new, all inclusive testament !”. Instead of rebuking and removing the man from the pulpit, most of the people in the audience applauded him for his shocking statement.

The Bible and Yeshua Himself prophesied these things would happen in the days that immediately precede the 2nd coming of the Messiah, and the re-establishment of the Kingdom of YHVH on the Earth. As the opening verse clearly tells us when we see these things happening all around us, we should look to the sky, to catch the first glimpse of the Lord, as He is about to return. At this time of the year most people are focusing on Yeshua’s birth, even though He was not born in December, rather than making sure they are in right standing with the Father and prepared for the day that they will stand before Him, to be judged fit or not fit to live in His presence for all of Eternity.

As the Bible tells is no-one knows the exact day, but to me it seems very obvious , that as we prepare to enter into 2020, the World is indeed Another Year Closer to the Return of Yeshua and we who believe and are looking forward to the Second Coming need to be looking up as our redemption is getting very near.

The LORD bless you in 2020, as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel.  Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD.  Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.

Shabbat Shalom  …..  David & Josie

This Week’s News Items

1. PM Netanyahu Slams ICC Decision to Investigate Israel    INN News December 22nd

Prime Minister Netanyahu has slammed the decision of International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor to open a full investigation into alleged Israeli ?war crimes? in Palestinian Authority (PA) controlled territories. He said “While Israel is moving forward in new areas of hope and peace with her Arab neighbors, the ICC in The Hague has taken a step backwards. It has became a weapon in the political war against the State of Israel. The prosecutor?s decision against Israel is absurd on three counts. The first absurdity is that the prosecutor?s decision completely contradicts the founding principle of the court itself which was designed to do care for states that did not have true judicial systems in law, which are present in the western world. They took a claim from the PA, who do not even have a state, and accused the only democracy in the Middle East, which operates in accordance with the highest legal standards of the western democracies, and which the Icc t has no jurisdiction over. This is the first absurdity. The second absurdity is that the prosecutor?s decision contradicts historical truth as It opposes the right of the Jews to settle in the Jewish homeland. To turn the fact that Jews are living in their land into a war crime is an absurdity of unimaginable proportions. The third absurdity is that the prosecutor?s decision contradicts contemporary truth. Who are they accusing here? Iran? Turkey? Syria? No ? Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East. This is terrible hypocrisy. We will continue to fight against these three absurdities. We will struggle for our rights and for our historical truth with all the tools at our disposal.” Pray that the ICC learns how to become an honest and just organisation

2. IDF Arrests 50 Members of Terror Cell   World Israel News   Dec 18th

Israeli security forces said on Wednesday that they have captured a massive terrorist squad of some 50 members suspected in connection with a deadly attack in August at a fresh water spring in Samaria. They reportedly acted under the umbrella of the PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) terrorist organization. In the bombing attack, Rina Sherbad was murdered, and her father, Eitan, and brother, Dvir, were wounded. The three family members were visiting a spring named in memory of terror victim Dani Gonen, who was murdered there by Arab terrorists in 2015. In September, the IDF announced that three terrorists who were responsible for the attack had been arrested. However, the military now says that there was a larger terror cell that was behind the August attack. ?The squad was apprehended as part of a wide-scale operation in the Ramallah and Qalqilya districts? in PA territory, said Wednesday?s Israeli statement, noting that the IDF, Israel Police and Border Police, and the Shin Bet intelligence agency had all taken part in uncovering the large terror operation. Pray that all terror cells in Judea & Samaria and in the Gaza Strip are apprehended

3. PM Netanyahu Hails New UAE – Israel Alliance

After the Emirati foreign minister posted a report to social media about diplomatic channels opening between Arab nations and Israel, PM Netanyahu tweeted praise for the message. On Saturday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on Twitter, ?The time has come for normalization and peace,? a tweet posted in response to a message on the social media platform from the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates. The tweet linked to an article on the UK?s Spectator website entitled ?Islam?s reformation: an Arab-Israeli alliance is taking shape in the Middle East.? The Spectator piece discusses a ?new narrative,? which the author argues is ?emerging in the Middle East.? According to the piece, ?New maps of the Muslim mind are being drawn and old hatreds are on the run. The anti-Semitic craze to destroy Israel was powerful in the 1960s, uniting Egypt?s President Nasser with his fellow Arabs. But now, Sunni Arab neighbors are changing course. Islamist leaders are losing their appeal ? at a time when Iran, with its brand of theological fascism, poses a threat to Israel and the Arab world alike.? While speculation mounts regarding warming covert ties between Israel and certain Arab nations, open signs of detente occur on an increasingly frequent basis. During the past several years, Israeli officials at the highest levels, including Netanyahu, have visited Oman. Israel was recently invited to participate in a major international event in Dubai called Expo 2020, which some see as the beginning of a new era in Israel-Arab relations. Pray that relations between Israel and the Arab nations will continue to improve

4. PM Netanyahu Faces Panel of Biased Judges     Israel Ha Yom News   Dec 25th

Next Tuesday, the Israeli Supreme Court will decide if Prime Minister Netanyahu is fit to form a government given that he faces indictment in three corruption cases. But the composition of the judges shows that PM Netanyahu will face a ?rigged game,? Israel Hayom reported on Wednesday. The reason is that the three judges who will preside over the debate are ?thought of as particularly activist and liberal? judges. The paper adds, in what it describes as ?quite unusual,? that the Supreme Court has decided to devote only three judges to the matter ? instead of seven, nine or 11 ? as it would normally do in dealing with important issues. (Unlike in the U.S. where all nine Supreme Court judges hear a case, in Israel the number can vary.) Israel Hayom also notes that a larger number of judges have sat to hear matters of far less significance. If the judges decide that \pm Netanyahu can?t form a government, it will be a political ?earthquake.? Critics have said that the judges should not be weighing in on the matter at all as Israeli law is clear ? a prime minister can govern under indictment. Only after conviction must the prime minister step down. Pray that the LORD will direct the outcome of the court decision, to suit His plans and purposes for the Israel’s government at this very strategic time.

5. Israeli Smartphone App Treats Migraines   United With Israel News   Dec 23rd

The Israeli company Theranica Bio-Electronics has developed the first smartphone-controlled wearable device that treats acute migraines without drugs. The device was named one of Time Magazine?s best inventions of 2019 and was honored as one of CB Insight?s Game Changers for 2020. The gadget, called Nerivio, looks like an armband used to take blood pressure and is placed on the upper arm upon the onset of a migraine attack. Through a smartphone app ?electronic pulses are sent wirelessly to stimulate a conditioned pain modulation response to mitigate pain and keep track of migraine episodes,? according to Theranica. The patient can control the intensity of the treatment through a user-friendly app to adjust intensity and ensure it is not painful. This allows for personalized treatments. Nerivio has received FDA approval and is available in the US, providing a novel alternative to pharmacological treatments, which often come with unpleasant side effects. Pray that this radical app will become successful world wide

6. Prince Charles to Attend Event at Yad va Shem  VFI News   Dec 20th

Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, will be in Israel for the first time in an official capacity in Jan. 2020.  He is scheduled to attend the World Holocaust Forum at Yad Vashem. No senior member of the Royal House had spent time in Israel in their official capacity until last year when Charles? son Prince William arrived on a state visit. The queen has never visited the Jewish state. However, her husband, Prince Philip, has been to visit his mother?s grave on the Mount of Olives. His mother, Princess Alice of Greece, hid a Jewish woman named Rachel Cohen and two of her children during the Holocaust and is recognized by Yad Vashem as a Righteous Gentile.  Many believe the lack of UK Royal House visits to Israel was due to a policy adopted following the Zionist movement?s use of violence against British nationals when the United Kingdom ruled the Mandate on Palestine ? an area comprising modern-day Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority. The issues of anti-Semitism and British-Israeli relations had loomed large in the minds of British Jews during the recent general election. Pray that the United Kingdom and the Royal Family changes its attitude towards Israel

7.  Non-Jewish Immigrants Outnumber Jewish Arrivals in Israel  VFI News   Dec 20th

Over 27,300 people have made Aliyah from January through October of 2019. Some 28,000 immigrants moved to the Jewish state during all of 2018, a record likely to be surpassed by the end of Dec. 2019. Last year also marked the first time in Israel?s history that Jewish immigrants to Israel were outnumbered by non-Jewish immigrants. Such immigrants, coming largely from the former Soviet Union and Baltic states, count Jewish ancestry but are ineligible to marry as Jews under the state-controlled rabbinic court system. According to a recent Israeli media report, 3.3 million people have immigrated to Israel since 1948. Around 44% of them have come since 1990. Pray that immigration back to Israel continues to increase in 2020
