David’s Comment: The Year 2019 Ends on a Violent Note – for Jews, Christians and Muslims
In the last few days of 2019, one major terror attack in Somalia killed 86 people and injured dozens of others. Apart from the 9/11 terror attack, this is one of the most serious terror incidents in modern history. There were also several lesser incidents in the United States, and although not even close to the scale of the Somali attack, these also qualify to be classed as terrorism. One of these attacks took place in a church near Fort Worth, Texas. The terrorist, dressed in black, opened fire at the back of the church during the Sunday morning service, killing two member of the congregation, before security guards shot and killed him.
I am not wanting to make light of the Somalia and Texas attacks, but I really want to focus on the other acts of terror that have been taking place at an increasing and alarming rate in the USA. I am referring to a series of anti-Semitic acts of terror that have been carried out over the last few days, the most serious was the incident that occurred at a Hanukkah taking place at the home of an Orthodox Rabbi in Munsey, New York. Thankfully no-one died in this horrific act of cold blooded violence, but 5 people, including the Rabbi’s son, were stabbed and suffered serious wounds, leaving the floor and the walls covered in the blood of the victims. The lone terrorist was apprehended soon after the attack and is now in police custody.
This spate of serious anti-Semitic terror attacks that have taken place in ‘Jewish friendly’ America shocked the people in the Jewish communities, as well as the decent non-Jewish members of the communities. However the ‘shock-wave’ that has hit the Jewish community in the USA, and in most Jewish communities around the world, including in Israel, is at a level seldom seen. Prime Minister Netanyahu released a very strong statement condemning the attack, and leaders of the Jewish communities in almost every country are echoing PM Netanyahu’s condemnation. I have been seen
a number of these statements, but I have not heard, even once what they should be saying ……. Its time for the Jewish people to return to the Promised Land – ALIYAH. In spite of the fact that Iran and the Islamic terror organisations are intent on destroying Israel and killing as many Jews as possible, Israel is the safest place in the world for Jewish people to live.
I am not saying that GOD is behind the rise of world-wide anti-Semitic and acts of violence against Jewish people, but I do know that He wants all the Jews back in Israel, and I believe that He is allowing these attacks to take place, to unsettle the millions of Jewish people out there in the nations, in the hope that they wake up and make their way home to Israel, before it is too late. As most of you know Josie oversees an intercession ministry, Intercessors for the Restoration of Israel, and Aliyah is the primary focus of that ministry. The LORD has placed a very strong burden in Josie to pray the Jews home, and to encourage Christians to do the same.
It is clear in the Bible that The LORD wants all of the Jews to come home, (Ezekiel 36:8 – 10, Ezekiel 39:29, Jeremiah 16:14 -16, plus many more). GOD can make that happen in many ways. The best scenario is that He will whistle louder (Zechariah 10:8) and supernaturally cause them to want to come home. The worst scenario is He will allow anti-Semitism to continue to increase, even to the point that a world-wide Holocaust will begin to take place. The Jews who are still out there in the nations will only have 2 options – run for their lives or face the same fate that more than 6 million Jews faced in the Nazi Holocaust. The way things are developing, those days may not be far off.
The future may not be much brighter for true Bible believing Christians, even in the once Christian western nations. As the majority of people in the nations become more distant from GOD and the Bible, hatred and intolerance for Believers and Kingdom righteousness intensifies, and violence against the people of GOD increases. I do not mean to be a ‘Jeremiah’, but that is the reality of todays world, we saw it last week in the two terror attacks that I wrote about in the first paragraph
.Let us all pray that I am wrong and let us intensify our prayer for our unsaved family, friends, people we work with.
The LORD bless you in 2020, as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ….. David & Josie

1. Shocking Terror Attack at Hanukkah Celebration in New York Assicated Press Dec 28th
A man attacked a Chanukah celebration at a rabbi?s home north of New York City late Saturday, stabbing and wounding five people before fleeing in a vehicle, police said. Top state officials, including Governor Andrew Cuomo and Attorney General Leticia James, released statements condemning the attack. Photos and videos posted on Twitter showed a large emergency response with paramedics running and pushing stretchers. A number of police and emergency vehicles could be seen in the images. Monsey is about an hour north of New York City. The Orthodox Jewish Public Affairs Council for the Hudson Valley region tweeted reports that the stabbings took place at the house of a Hasidic rabbi while they were celebrating Hanukkah. 3. Hamas Protests at Gaza Border Fizzle Out United with Israel News Dec 27th
An announcement was made on Thursday by the organizing committee of weekly riots overseen by the Hamas terror group communicating that the violent demonstrations may be coming to an end.
The committee said the demonstrations will only take place once a month, beginning in March, the second anniversary of the riots. Hamas used the riots to stage heated confrontations with Israeli troops, with terror group members acting as snipers, rock hurlers, and would-be infiltrators using women and children as human shields to mount their attacks. Israel consistently defended its border against attacks and infiltration attempts. Hamas also continued its rocket attacks on the Jewish state, with the Iran-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad joining the missile launches as of late. Late Wednesday, a rocket attack believed to have been launched by Islamic Jihad forced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu off the stage during a campaign stop in southern Israel. Israel responded by bombing a series of Hamas targets. Israel holds Hamas responsible for all fire out of Gaza, even rockets launched by rival militant groups. Pray that these violent protests are completely stopped

The Israeli Supreme Court opened its first hearing at just after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on a petition challenging PM Netanyahu?s ability to form a new government while under indictment. As the hearing began, dozens of right-wing protesters gathered outside of the court to demonstrate in support of PM Netanyahu. Tuesday’s hearing is the first dealing with a petition submitted by a group of 67 former government officials, academics, and other prominent figures. The petition was drafted by attorney Dafna Holtz-Lechner, and has been endorsed by the former Israeli Air Force chief, the former National Security Advisor Uzi, the former Shin Bet internal security agency chief, the former Ben Gurion University president, and several others. During the hearing, chief justice Esther Hayut questioned why the petitioners felt the need to bring the matter to the court ahead of the March 2nd election, adding that she saw no legal basis for preventing Netanyahu from running in the election.

6. Israel’s Leviathan Gas Field Begins Pumping Gas INN News Dec 31st
Israel’s offshore Leviathan field started pumping gas on Tuesday in what the operating consortium called “a historic turning point in the history of the Israeli economy.” A joint statement from partners Noble Energy, Delek Drilling, and Ratio said that the start of production was expected to lead to an immediate reduction in domestic electricity prices and the start of exports. “For the first time in its history, Israel to become a significant natural gas exporter,” it said. On December 17, Israel’s Energy Minister announced approval of sales to Egypt from Leviathan and the smaller Tamar field.
A spokesman for Israeli partner Delek said then that deliveries to Egypt were expected to begin on January 1. Leviathan was discovered 130 kilometers (81 miles) west of the Mediterranean port city Haifa in 2010. It is estimated to hold 535 billion cubic meters (18.9 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas, along with 34.1 million barrels of condensate. Pray that more gas and oil fields will be discovered further boosting Israel’s economy
7. Israel Air Force Strike Back After Rocket Attack
The Israel Air Force attacked terror targets in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire on Israel from Gaza, the Israeli military announced early Thursday. The IDF reported that a rocket had been fired from Gaza and that the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system intercepted the projectile. In the Israeli response to the Gazan rocket attack, the IDF tweeted that fighter jets and attack helicopters struck ?a number of terror targets of the Hamas terror organization in the Gaza Strip, including military compounds of the organization.? The IDF reiterated the Israeli position that Hamas is held accountable for all attacks from the territory which it rules, and ?will bear the consequences,? even if the organization itself did not fire the rocket. Hamas snatched the Gaza Strip from the Palestinian Authority in June 2007 in a coup. ?The guy who fired last time is no longer with us; whoever fired now should start packing his belongings,? Pray that the IDF is able to seek out and destroy all of the Gaza rocket launching units.
