David’s Comment: Learning from the Enemy
2 Corinthians 2:11 ….. do not be ignorant of the enemy or his devices T
Taking heed of the above verse there are at least three lessons we can and must learn from the enemy of the Kingdom of GOD …….
Lesson 1: The first time Josie and I visited Israel was at the Feast of Tabernacles in 1990. One of the speakers at the ICEJ conference made a statement that I have not forgotten. He said “if you want to know what is important to GOD, look and see what the evil one attacking. 1 John 5:19 tells us that whole world lies under the influence of the evil one. This verse is clearly demonstrated as being true in that almost every government in the world stands against the GOD given right of the Jewish people to occupy ALL of the Promised Land, including all of Jerusalem, the Temple Mount, Judea & Samaria and the Gaza Strip. We can see by the way that the majority of the World is against Israel, including much of the Church, which whether they realise it or not, are deceived by Replacement Theology, that YHVH is FOR Israel.
There is no neutral position – Yeshua said that we are either with Him (& the Father), or we are against Him (& the Father) – there is no middle ground. That means where and how people stand in regards to Israel will determines if they are blessed or cursed (Genesis 12:3). Those who hate Israel and the Jewish people are being drawn into a head-on confrontation with the Holy One of Israel, who is a God of love, mercy and grace, but He is also described in the Bible as “a consuming fire.
Lesson 2: The second lesson we can learn from the enemy of the Kingdom of GOD is persistence – he never gives up. British leader Winston Churchill, often referred to as the British Bulldog, was a very determined leader. After he retired from politics he was in high demand as a key-note speaker. I have read that at one event where he gave a speech he came to the podium, looked intently at the audience and said “never, never, never, never, never, never, never give up,” and sat down. I am not sure how mean times he repeated the word never, but the audience finally got it. Initially the audience was shocked and disappointed that was all the great orator said, but slowly the message sunk in and they gave Winston Church a standing ovation.
Lesson 3: When it seems you are defeated – When we are Born Again, we are grafted in to the Olive Tree – Israel. When we get grafted in to Israel, we get drafted in to the Army of the LORD. We are all involved in a war between YHVH and Ha Satan. (2 Cor 10:4, Ephesians 6:10-13) And this war that broke out in Heaven (Rev 1:7) is the Mother of All wars ! There are only 2 ways – give up and surrender or fight until the enemy is defeated ! As I watch the enemies of the Kingdom in our time, I have seen them suffer a defeat, retreat, regroup and then attack again. The earthly army of YHVH needs to learn that lesson. We have lost many battles – abortion, same sex marriage, the right to speak truth plus more. But the war is not over, and we can open the last page of the Bible and see who wins the Mother of ALL Wars – GOD wins, and we are His soldiers on the ground. (2 Tim 2:3) Therefore let us learn how to wage war – spiritual war. Brothers and sisters, whatever you are praying for or about, do not stop – do not give up. When it comes to praying for Israel, GOD tells us to do so in Psalm 122:6, and in Isaiah 62:6-7, YHVH says to give Him no rest until He makes a Jerusalem a praise in all the Earth. The perfect GOD given pattern for all prayer is in those 2 passages -always pray for Israel first, as a priority, and then begin to pray for your own issues, and never, never, never, never, 1000 times never give up.
1 Cor 15:57 Thanks be to GOD who gives us the victory through Messiah Yeshua.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ….. David & Josie h
