David’s Comment: The American Peace Plan – Good or Bad ?
Joel 3:1-2 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and they have parted my land.
Just in case anyone is wondering why I am not in favour of the latest attempt by the United States, this time under the leadership of President Trump, to initiate a peace agreement between Israel and the so called ‘Palestinians’, there are several reasons why ……
1/. In Genesis chapter 12 YHVH made a blood covenant in regards to the Promised Land with Abraham and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob. In Genesis 15:18 the Bible defines the borders of the Promised Land as being from the River of Egypt (the Nile) to the great river Euphrates. This means that all of modern Israel including Judea, Samaria and Gaza, the lower half of Lebanon and Syria, all of Jordan and half of Iraq is included in the covenant promise. When David was the King, Israel occupied most of the territory that GOD promised to Abraham.
2/. YHVH is very serious when it comes to His covenant promises – He does not break any covenant and He does not change His mind. The fact that GOD is clearly fulfilling HIS covenantal promises and also the promises that HE spoke through the Hebrew prophets, should give every Christian great confidence that HE will keep HIS New Covenant promises of eternal life. Anyone who attempts to interfere or hinder HIS plans and purpose for Israel and the Jewish people, ultimately pay a high price.
3/. The territory that the politicians and secular news media calls the Occupied Territories, are actually Kingdom property. As people who believe that the Bible is the Word of GOD, we should only form our opinions of what is right or wrong based on the Scriptures. The UN, EU, most politicians and the secular media do not base their perspectives on the Word of GOD. The new US plan calls for East Jerusalem to be the capital city of the future Palestinian State, which will divide Jerusalem. The plan also calls for some kind of contigiuous travel corridor between the proposed Palestinian State and the Gaza Strip. This would cut Israel almost in half. White House journalist, William Koenig documented the disasters that hit the USA after previous governments interfered with Israel in his book EYE to EYE.
4/. The US plan calls for the proposed Palestinian State to be ‘weapons free’ which would be impossible to enforce, and would put Israeli lives at risk. There are too many small terror groups in the PA controlled area and the Gaza Strip for the government of the proposed state to be able to guarantee that it will be ‘free of weapons’. We also need to take into account that as long as Iran is governed by fundamental Islamists, Iran will continue to encourage and sponsor terrorists to plan and launch attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians.
Finally, in Isaiah 9:6, Yeshua is called ‘Sar Shalom’ – ‘Prince of Peace’. Any attempt by anyone else to bring peace to the Middle East is doomed to fail. Even if this latest US peace plan begins to be implimented, it has no chance of long term success. If we truly want to see the end of the Israeli / Arab conflict, we need to pray for all of the words of the Hebrew prophets to come to pass, which will bring forth Yeshua’s return (Acts 3:21) and will bring true Shalom (peace) to the Middle East and the rest of the world. We also need to pray that our political leaders and our Church leaders have a revelation of Biblical truth and fall in line with YHVH’s plans and purposes for Israel and the nations.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ….. David & Josie

1. Israel Bombs Hamas Underground Base Arutz 7 News Feb 2nd
IDF fighter jets and helicopters attacked several Hamas terrorist targets in the northern Gaza Strip overnight Saturday. Among the targets attacked were underground infrastructures used by Hamas’ military wing, including a structure which serves as a military war room. Attacking these targets impairs the capacity of the terrorist organization. The attack was carried out in response to the rocket fire and incendiary balloon attacks from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory during Shabbat. The Hamas terrorist organization is responsible for everything that happens inside and outside of the Gaza Strip, and it will bear the consequences for the terrorist actions against Israeli citizens, the IDF stressed. Terrorists fired a barrage of rockets toward southern Israel on Friday evening. Red Color sirens were sounded on Friday evening, around 10:40 p.m., near the Gaza border. Earlier, around 8:20 p.m., sirens were sounded in the city of Sderot and other communities near the Gaza border. The IDF confirmed that a rocket was fired from Gaza toward the area and was intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile system. There were no physical injuries but minor damage was reported to homes in Sderot. In response to the rocket and balloon attacks from Gaza, IDF aircraft attacked Hamas targets in northern Gaza overnight Friday. On Saturday morning, balloons with an explosive device landed on the coastline near Ashkelon. IDF sappers were called to the scene. Pray that Israel is able to destroy all Hamas infrastructure that is designed to be used to attack Israel.

5. Terror Attack in Jerusalem Israel Today News Feb 6th
Following a relatively long period of quiet in regards to terror violence in Jerusalem, a group of soldiers from the Golani Brigade were deliberately rammed by a car during the predawn hours. Twelve soldiers were injured, one of them seriously. The attack occurred around 2:30 a.m. near Jerusalem?s old train station, one of the capital?s more popular public venues. The soldiers were on their way to the Western Wall when a car suddenly sped towards and rammed into them before fleeing the scene. Israeli security forces launched a massive manhunt for the terrorist. Later in the morning his car was discovered near Bethlehem, but the terrorist remains at large. Fortunately, most of the victims suffered only minor injuries, but one soldier had to be rushed into emergency surgery. He was hit directly by the car. His condition was described as stable as we went to press this morning, but doctors cautioned that he is still not out of the woods. The remaining 11 soldiers are likely to be released from the hospital in the coming hours. It was the first vehicular terrorist attack since the January 2017 Jerusalem ramming attack, in which a terrorist driving a large truck hit a group of young soldiers at the Haas Promenade. Four IDF soldiers were killed in that attack. Later in the day, an Israeli police officer was shot and lightly wounded at the Lion?s Gate of Jerusalem?s Old City. Fellow officers on duty quickly returned fire and neutralized the terrorist. Pray that all of the injured soldiers, especially the one who is in serious condition are restored to perfect health.
6. Early Morning Earthquake Shakes Mt. Carmel David’s Personal Report Feb 6th
I was sitting in my chair having my morning Bible reading time on Thursday morning, when I started to hear a rumbling sound growing louder. A second or 2 later, the whole house was moving backwards and forwards. I immediately knew we were having an earthquake, have experienced two 5.7 earthquakes during a speaking tour of New Zealand several years ago. The shaking lasted for about 3 seconds, but it is an interesting experience, as those few seconds seem longer at the time, and while it is happening, you don’t know when it will stop, or if it will be the BIGGIE that could become life threatening, and even when it is over, there is the thought that there may be another stronger shake to follow. As it turned out, there was only one event that registered 3.8 on the Richter Scale. The epicentre was 9 km (4 miles) southwest of Mt. Carmel, so it was very close. No damage was reported, but some buildings shook so strongly that the residents ran out into the street. Pray that the LORD will stabilise the movement of the plates that caused this earthquake.
7. 400 Ethiopian Jews to Arrive in israel by March 2 VFI News Feb 3rd
Ethiopians representing 60 families hope to be brought to Israel before 2 March 2020. The groups are part of the Falash Mura community, who claim links to descendants of Jews who converted to Christianity generations ago under duress but now seek a return to Judaism. Some 8,000 Falash Mura in Ethiopia are awaiting permission to immigrate to the Jewish state, most of whom have relatives in Israel. A Cabinet resolution in 2015 committed to bringing all 8,000 Ethiopian Jews to Israel by 2020, but not enough funds have been allocated in successive budgets to obtain that goal. In October 2018, the Cabinet approved a plan for the immigration of 1,000 candidates in the following year who met the criterion of having first-degree relatives in Israel, but in 2019 only about 600 arrived. Approximately 140,000 Ethiopians live in Israel. Pray that all remaining Ethiopian Jews will be brought to Israel this year.
