David & Josies’ Comment: Now is the Time for the Jewish People to Come Home
Ezekiel 36:10 I will bring ALL of the House of Israel. ALL of it
Ezekiel 39:28 I will leave none of my people captive in the nations
Jeremiah 16:14-16 No longer will they say “the LORD lives who brought the Children of Israel up from Egypt,” but they will say “the LORD lives who brought the Children of Israel back from every place that HE scattered them.”
Most of you will be aware that Josie has a separate ministry called Intercessors for the Restoration of Israel (I.R.I.). Josie has a strong passion to see the above scriptures fulfilled, therefore primary focus of her prayer ministry is Aliyah – the return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland of Israel. A few weeks ago, as the virus began, Josie heard the word ‘flood’ and she had the sense that there would be a dramatic increase of Aliyah in the days ahead, for the following reasons ……..
1. In past years, when Israel has had a very wet winter like the one we just had, there is a significant increase in the number of people making Aliyah
2. Thousands of Jews in the nations were shocked that, because of the virus, they could not travel to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover as is their custom every year
3. Many Jewish families are now not able to travel to visit their family members who are living in Israel – they are feeling trapped in the nations.
4. There is a lot of fear of persecution in the Jewish communities in the nations, as they see Anti-Semitism dramatically rising in the nations where they are living
And the ‘flood’ is beginning to come to pass. The head of the Jewish Immigration Agency said last week that they are expecting 100,000 new immigrants as a result of the virus. An Aliyah office in the USA is reporting a 50% increase in the number of new Aliyah inquiries over the last 3 or 4 weeks.
Last Shabbat we listened to a powerful message by Rabbi Jeremy Gimpel which deeply impacted both of us and we both felt to make Aliyah the focus of this week’s comment. This man is not a Messianic rabbi, but he was declaring the word of the LORD. As we listened to the message, Josie saw a picture of Israel being like the Ark of Noah. The doors are open and our people are streaming into the Ark of Israel, their homeland (making Aliyah).
There are of course millions of Jewish people still to come into the Ark of Israel, while the doors are open. Millions alone in the United States of America, Brasil, Canada, Europe, UK, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. They have felt comfortable and safe in their adoptive nations, but that is changing and many are beginning to realise that the only safe place for Jewish people is Israel.
The GOD of Israel gives a powerful guarantee of that in Jeremiah 31:35 where HE declares that while the Sun or the Moon give their light, Israel will not cease from being a nation before HIM.
The Ark of Israel will NOT sink, even when the turbulent waters in the World get rough, we will remain safe, here in the land, but our people still out there in the nations, are very vulnerable If they are not in the Ark of Israel and will get tossed to and fro when the future turbulent times come upon the World. There was once a very popular song that went around the church many years ago and the words were. Come, now is the time to worship. Josie has updated the lyrics to Come( Jewish people) Now is the time to come home to your homeland – Israel. Aliyah should also be a primary focus for prayer for every Church and every individual Christian for at least the 2 following reasons ……..
1. The return of Yeshua to set up the Kingdom in Jerusalem will not come to pass until the Jewish people are back in the Promised Land (Acts 3:21)
2. The Believers in the nations are called by the LORD to assist the Jewish people to return to the Promised Land (Isaiah 49:22)
In 2 Peter 3:12 we are all called to hasten the day of the Lord’s return. If we want to hear those precious words Well done good and faithful servant, we need to do our best to assist as many Jewish people as possible to make their way to Israel. Aliyah ought to be a prayer priority in our personal prayer life and in the life of our congregations. Josie has a list of 84 verses that speak about the return of the Jews before the Messianic age. A Messianic Jewish pastor here in Israel recently wrote an article in the Israel Today magazine, claiming that there are 700 similar verses. Even just the 84 should tell us that Aliyah is very precious to the heart of GOD. However it seems that the Devil has managed to blind most pastors and Bible teachers to the relevance and importance of Israel and the Jewish people’s return to the Promised Land. When was the last time, if ever, that you heard a Sunday sermon on the subject of Aliyah ? When was the last time your congregation prayer for Israel and the Jewish people ? Enough said ………
We believe that one of the reasons behind the virus crisis is that the LORD is using it to launch a fresh wave of Aliyah – a flooding of God’s people returning to their homeland – Israel. We believe that NOW IS THE TIME – Please do listen to the message by Jeremy Gimpel The Final Return of Israel. It is a confirmation of the call of the New York Hassidic Rabbi in news item number 3, to get out while it is still possible. This is urgent brothers and sisters. Please pray every day for our people to come home. And please pass that link and this comment on to other Believers, especially pastors and leaders, and please send the link to all of the Jewish people you know.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ….. David & Josie
This Week’s News Items
1. Israeli Hospital Closes its Corona Ward World Israel News May 3rd
The corona ward in the Assuta Hospital in Ashdod treated some of the worst coronavirus cases in the country, but is now closed because all its patients have gone home. At the height of the corona crisis, the Assuta Hospital treated dozens of patients in its dedicated coronavirus ward, losing an elderly patient with preexisting conditions at an early stage of the pandemic. This week, the hospital closed the corona ward because all of its patients have recovered. The closure of Assuta?s corona section provides a clear sign that Israel has turned a corner in the corona crisis. Pray that this great report will soon be repeated from every hospital in Israel
2. Huge Increase of Immigration Expected World Israel News May 3rd
Following the Jewish Agency?s estimation that the worldwide pandemic will lead to a large wave of Jewish immigration to Israel from the Diaspora, representatives of various aliyah groups met for an emergency meeting last week. The Jewish Agency chairman expects that up to 100,000 Jewish people may leave their home countries for Israel, or make aliyah, once the current global health emergency is under control. The meeting?s participants discussed the large number of applications from prospective immigrants that they?ve been receiving. A representative of Nativ, which is responsible for aliyah from the Commonwealth of Independent States, the post-Soviet republics, said that the group has received 20,000 applications. It received 6,000 before corona hit. The Nefesh B?Nefesh?s director of government advocacy, said the group has seen a 20-percent rise in requests for forms to open immigration files. Nefesh B?Nefesh deals with aliyah from North America. The French immigrant aid group Qualita says it received 2,000 requests from French people interested in making aliyah. It director general, said that Qualita was fielding the requests because the Jewish Agency offices in France are closed due to the pandemic. As soon as the offices open, he says, he expects the Agency to see ?a big wave? of applications from French citizens seeking aliyah. Israel?s well-publicized relative success in battling the pandemic is one reason for the high-level interest. In parallel to the global crisis, they look at the way Israel is functioning in the fight against the virus and see a strong country that is functioning well, comparatively, and I am receiving many reactions about it from all over the world. Over 100 new immigrants have landed in Israel in the past several weeks, in the midst of the health crisis, as a special exception to the general lockdown on travel. Pray that even more than 100,000 will begin to make prepartions to make Aliyah.
3. Hassidic Rabbi Calls on Followers to Immigrate to Israel Before it is Too Late VFI News May 5th
?Leave while it’s possible,” he was quoted as saying. “Things will get worse and it will be difficult to move from one country to another.” He added that prior to World War II, some Hasidic rebbes asked their followers to move to Israel, but “part of the decree was that the Jews didn’t listen.” “Whoever can afford to rise and ascend to the Holy Land should do it as soon as possible. The US will also become a dangerous place, mired in war?and it is still too early to tell which US state will survive….the Land of Israel will be the safest place to survive the war, even though there will be terrible difficulties there as well.” He himself, however, could not immigrate, he said: “I don’t have permission to do so?in Heaven they are holding me back for the time being, to stay here in the US.” Pray that the followers and multitudes of other Jewish people of the rabbi heed his warning.
4. Israel Defense Ministry Declares Breakthrough in Corona Vaccine World Israel News May 5th
Israel?s biological defense research lab has discovered what they say is a ?breakthrough? in finding an antidote to the coronavirus by isolating and developing an antibody that attacks the virus, defense officials said. The Israel Institute for Biological Research, which normally deals with responses to chemical and biological threats against Israel, presented its findings to Defense Minister Naftali Bennett, who hailed the work as a ?major breakthrough.? Researchers said the development phase has been completed and that they are filing for a patent for the antibody and looking for a commercial partner to manufacture it in large quantities. A defense ministry statement said the antibody attacks the virus and ?can neutralize it within the bodies of those who are ill.? ?I am proud of the Biological Institute staff who have brought about this amazing breakthrough,? Bennett said during a visit to the institute on Monday. ?The Jewish brain and ingenuity have brought about this amazing achievement.? The antibody was produced from plasma from animals and from patients who have recovered from the virus, Ynet reported. The discovery still needs to go through several stages before it will be ready as a treatment. If continued testing proves itself, the antibody will be administered by transfusions given to patients in moderate condition where the virus has not yet caused massive damage to their body tissues. At a press conference Monday night, Prime Minister Netanyahu cautioned that the work is ongoing and not final. Pray that this vaccine will prove to be the most effective way to treat COVID-19 virus – another blessing to the world from Israel.
5. Israel Drives Iran Out of Syria United With Israel News May 6th
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights in Syria (SOHR) reported on a strike targeting branch 247 ?defense factories? in Al-Sfira. The strikes resulted in the destruction of ammunition depots.
According to SOHR, 14 people, including Iranian and Iraqi nationals, were killed in the strikes. The activities further reported on ?three loud explosions? that were heard in the Al-Mayadeen desert in rural Deir ez-Zor, targeting positions of Iranian-led militia.Israel has significantly stepped up its attacks against Iranian and Hezbollah targets in recent weeks. Monday night?s attack is the sixth attack in Syria in a two-week period, all against Iranian or Hezbollah targets related to the Iranian missile project in Syria. While Israel has refrained from publicly commenting on the reports, Minister of Defense Naftali Bennett stated during that the IDF was determined to drive the Iranians out of Syria. ?We have moved from blocking Iran?s entrenchment in Syria to forcing it out of there, and we will not stop. We will not allow more strategic threats to grow just across our borders without taking action,? he stated. Iran seeks to establish bases, with Syrian?s blessing, along Israel?s northern borders. Israel has long maintained that it will not allow Iran to establish a new threat on its borders. Israel is also trying to prevent Iran from providing Hezbollah with advanced weaponry, specifically precision-guided missiles. Iran?s military build-up in Syria remains a red line for Israel. Pray that Israel will succeed in completely removing Iranian and Hezbollah personnel from Syria
6. Green Light for Unity Government World Israel News May 7th
Israel?s Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may form a new government while under indictment, clearing the way for him and his main rival to join together in a power-sharing national unity coalition. The unanimous decision, released just before midnight, ended a more than year-long political stalemate and prevented the country from plunging into a fourth consecutive election in just over a year. Netanyahu and his rival-turned-partner, Benny Gantz, said they expected their coalition to be sworn into office next week. After battling to three inconclusive elections, Netanyahu and Gantz announced their emergency government last month, saying they would put aside their rivalry to steer the country through the coronavirus crisis. Critics claimed the deal was illegal and challenged it in the Supreme Court. In particular, they objected to the creation of a new position of ?alternate prime minister,? a post that will allow Netanyahu to remain in office throughout his trial. Over two days this week, the court looked at two questions: whether an indicted politician can be given authority to form a new government, and whether their power-sharing deal ? which includes new legislation ? was legal. In its decision, the 11-judge panel rejected all of the challenges. ?We did not find any legal reason to prevent MK Netanyahu from forming a government,? the court said. The judges ruled that while the coalition deal presents significant legal difficulties, the court would not interfere in its contents following changes submitted by Netanyahu and Gantz.
Pray that this new unity government will hold together and the three main leaders will learn to respect each other.
7. World Health Organisation Lies About Israel and Other Issues World Israel News May 4th
President Trump renewed his criticism of the World Health Organization Thursday for the way the United Nations organization failed to challenge false information China initially provided minimizing the coronavirus outbreak in that country. He should also call out the WHO for its disgraceful role in spreading absurd lies and hatred about U.S. ally Israel for years. Trump recently suspended U.S. funding of the WHO. America is by far the largest donor to the agency and was scheduled to give it $894 million during the current two-year funding period. A year ago, WHO member countries voted 96 to 11 ? with the U.S. in opposition ? for an annual resolution blaming Israel for ?health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory, including east Jerusalem, and in the occupied Syria Golan.? While one might expect the WHO to be apolitical, like nearly every other U.N.associated organisation, it is used by enemies as a platform for viciously attacking the Jewish state. What may be even more disturbing is that democracies that should know better ? including France, Belgium and Sweden ? joined in the unjustified condemnation of Israel. This targeting of Israel has been going on since at least 2000. The truth is that Israel has done far more than both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas to care for the health of the Palestinians. U.N. Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer noted that ?anyone who has ever walked into an Israeli hospital or clinic knows that they are providing world-class health care to thousands of Palestinian Arabs.? Israel is doing a great deal to help the Palestinians contain the coronavirus outbreak that first apparently arrived in the West Bank in Bethlehem. Pray the WHO is rebuked by other nations that are honest about what Israel is really doing for her Arab neighbours and the world.
