David’s Comment:  The Fall ‘Feasts’ of the LORD
Leviticus 23:1 -2  YHVH said to Moses: Speak to the Israelites and tell them “These are the YHVH’s appointed times which you must proclaim as Holy assemblies. They are My appointed times   ………

Introduction The Fall Festivals begin in Israel on Sunday night. The Jewish calendar revolves around the annual Biblical ‘Feast’ cycle, which is linked to the annual harvest cycle. The Bible,  from Genesis to Revelation, is all about a harvest – GOD’s plan of redemption, as He prepares to harvest a people who will live forever with Him in His Kingdom. YHVH is in the process of the restoration of all things in preparation for the return of His Son, Yeshua ( Acts 3:21) to take up His prophesied role of Messiah, Saviour and King of the Earth. In Psalm 102:16, the Word tells is that the Lord will build up Zion and then He will appear in His glory.  When the Bible says Zion, it means Israel, however if the Church is in her correct Biblical position, grafted into the natural Olive Tree (Romans 11:17), then she is also a part of Zion, and thus is also included in the restoration process. However, because of the effects of the 2nd century separation of the Church from her true roots and the effects of Replacement Theology, the majority of Christian leaders have called them Jewish Feasts, which they wanted nothing to do with and thus ignored the ‘Feasts’ and of the LORD for most of the last 1900 years. But now we are in the time of the restoration of all things for Israel and the Church (see my Restoration booklet)

Josie and I take this call to advance the restoration very seriously, and we do our best to teach our non-Jewish ‘fellow citizens’ (Ep 2:19) in the nations how to keep the ‘Feasts’ in a Biblical manner. As the ‘Feasts’ come around, we will publish a simple teaching on how the follow the Biblical instructions for each ‘Feast.’ As Josie says there is a ‘richness’ in the ‘Feasts’ of the Lord, that most Christians are missing out on. We pray that through these teachings you will learn more about the God of Israel and His Anonted One – Yeshua our Messiah and soon coming King.  May you also discover the riches and blessings of the ‘Feasts’ of the LordHag Sameach

The Relevance of the ‘Feasts’  – Why All Who Love the LORD should live by His calendar.

1/. The reason that I have place punctuation marks around the word ‘Feasts’ each time it has appeared in this comment so far is that the Hebrew word in the Bible is not Feast, but Moedim, which
means Appointed Times. These set dates are the days that GOD has sovereignly Appointed to interact with His people. Of course we can meet with the LORD at any time, but the Moedim are the dates that He has chosen to meet with us in a very special way.

2/. There are 7 Moedim (interesting number) and they portray a prophetic picture of God’s timetable and redemption plan for the World. Biblical history shows that YHVH only makes strategic moves on these 7 dates. The major events in the New Testament have all occured on Moedim dates and the numerology is strikingly exact. The feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, First-Fruits and Shavuot have been fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Yeshua and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. The final 3 Moedim are all about the Messiah’s return and Millenium reign from Jerusalem. Imagine that you ask someone for directions from one place to another and they give you 7 waypoints, and the first 4 are exactly where the person said they would be, you would be confident tha the final 3 will get you to your destination. In the same way, if we take note of the first 4 Moedim, we can be confident that the last 3 will be fulfilled exactly, bringing us to our hoped for final destination.

3/. Keeping the Moedim of the YHVH makes us ‘Holy’ or ‘sanctified,’ which really means to be set apart. Keeping the Moedim of the LORD and not the other religious holidays sets us apart from the rest of the World, and sadly sets us apart from many others in our families and in our congregations, who choose not to conform to GOD’s times and seasons. Yes there is a price to pay for those who choose to worship Him in spirit and in truth. And it can be a very high price for some people.

4/. Finally another very important purpose of the Moedim is to teach the next generation about GOD’s nature and the coming of the Messiah. YHVH’s faithfulness can be clearly seen in the Moedim and there is a clear prophetic picture of the Messiah in all of the 7. The fact that the Jewish people still exist, in spite of having a 4000 year history of Satan inspired men who have tried their best to destroy us clear evidence of GOD’s faithfulness to keep His promises. The Jewish people are still here, much to the displeasure of our Muslim neighbours and anti-Semites world-wide, and once again are able to celebrate the 7 Moedim every year in the Promised Land, which is also a clear sign that the Messiah’s return is very close.

So let us set ourselves apart from the world, and learn how to celebrate the Feasts of the YHVH and in doing so we will teach our children about the GOD of lsrael   ……….

This coming Sunday night is the first of the Fall Moedim  … Yom Ha Teruah – The Memorial of Shofar BlastsLeviticus 23: 24 “In the seventh month. on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath, a memorial blowing of Shofars, and a Holy assembly.”   Most Jewish families celebrate with traditional prayers and a family meal on the evening that the festival begins. In Israel the next 2 days are public holidays. Religious Jews spend much of the Yom ha Teruah praying in Synogogues where the Shofar is blown a number of times, Most Secular Jews in Israel spend the days at the beach or in the national parks. Because most Jewish people see this festival as the New Year, the tradition is to eat apples dipped in honey and wish each other a sweet year ahead. Most Rabbis teach that YHVH created the Universe at this time of the year.

How Believers in Yeshua Should Celebrate Yom ha Teruah

As best we should at least acknowledge that this 24 hour period is one of the LORD’s Appointed Times to meet with us in a special way. As It is to be a Holy convocation or gathering together, we should also dedicate some time of prayer and praise and enjoy fellowship over a meal with Believing family and friends on the eve of the Feast. And if possible take the next day off from doing our customary work.

More important is the prophetic aspect of Yom ha Teruah. Today many Bible commentators believe that the Rapture of God’s people will occur one year on the day of Yom Ha Teruah (1 Cor 15;52  – at the last  Shofar ).  All true Believers should be looking forward to that day, which is close, but yet a few years (at least 7) in the future. That is surely something to look forward to, however we will all be here for a while yet, and we are involved in a war – a war between the 2 spiritual kingdoms. Like Esther, we have all been called to the Kingdom at such a time as this, not to be spectators, but to be soldiers in the Army of God.  (2 Tim 2:3 & 4 – Eph 6:12-18 – 2 Cor 10:4)

In spite of the shock and grief that many are sensing as we witness our world shaking apart, Josie and I want  to wish all of our Jewish brethren Hag  Sameach Have a happy and blessedYom Ha Teruah and to all of our ‘grafted-in ….  fellow citizens’,  we invite you to enjoy a pre-taste of eternity and celebrate this Feast of Trumpets with the Jewish people in Israel and in the nations.

It is Biblical to make a special offering to the LORD on the Moedim. If you are not a regular financial supporter of Out of Zion, please pray about directing your special offering to this ministry.  May the
May the Lord abundantly bless you this Yom ha Teruah as you awaken to the Shofar blast, and please be sure to WATCH, PRAY and help PREPARE the way of the Lord’s return

The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel.  Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their GOD.  Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.

Shabbat Shalom ……  David & Josie

1. Israel Pleased With US Withdrawl of Support for UNRWA    Israel Today News    Sept 2nd

Various surveys and newspaper columns by leading journalists revealed that most Israelis are pleased by US President Trump’s moves to delegitimize the Palestinian refugee issue. Amnon Lord, who writes for the free daily newspaper Israel Hayom, hailed Trump for “continuing his policies that break old concepts and stick to the truth.” Israel’s largest paid daily newspaper, Yediot Ahronot, echoed the sentiment: “After almost 70 years of the large refugee scam, the time for change has come.” Trump announced last week that he will be cutting all US funding of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), established solely to address the Palestinian refugee issue, though in its decades of existence all it has accomplished is to multiply the number of refugees by taking the unprecedented step of making that status hereditary. According to Trump, the history books and the rules of status applied to every other refugee population, there should be no more than 500,000 genuine Palestinian refugees today. Even that number irks many Israelis, who note that a similar number of Jews were forced to flee surrounding Arab nations between 1948-1972, and not one of them was ever recognized by the UN as a refugee, nor was a special agency established to address their needs.  The bottom line is that Trump wants to conclude a peace deal, and, unlike previous American presidents, he understands that no Israeli government will ever be able to sign an agreement that involves opening the Jewish state to five million new potential Arab citizens. That’s why, along with control of Jerusalem, the Palestinian “right of return” has been one of the major sticking point in peace negotiations for decades, even when left-wing Israeli governments were in power. Pray that the US goes ahead with the plan to cut of financial support of UNRWA and moves it to a fair and balanced aid organisation that does not support terrorsists

2. Iran Deploying Ballistic Missiles to Iraq & Syria    INN News  Aug 31st

Sources in Iran and several Western Intelligence agencies confirmed on Friday that the Islamic Republic has transferred ballistic missiles to Shi?ite proxy militias in Iraq in violation of UN Security Council resolutions. Also on Friday, private intelligence firm ImageSat International (ISI) published photos of what appears to be an Iranian-built missile production facility in northwestern Syria. The facility is in territory covered by the Russian-manned S-400 air defence system, raising the question of whether Israel would risk Moscow?s ire by striking it. Pray that Israel is able to discover and destroy all Iranian weapons

3. Iranian Airbase in Syria Attacked Again   World Israel News  Sept 2nd

A string of powerful blasts from the direction of a military airport in Damascus lit up the skies and shook the capital city in the early morning hours on Sunday, residents and state TV reported. The explosions were seen and heard coming from the direction of the Mezzeh airport, southwest of the capital. The airport has been targeted in a number of airstrikes in recent years that the government has blamed on Israel. The state-run TV station showed what appeared to be hand-held footage shot by residents of the capital capturing a string of bright explosions lighting up the night sky. The station reported, citing an unnamed military source, that the explosions did not come from inside the airport but from a nearby munitions depot. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights group said the explosions came from inside the air base and said they were likely caused by an Israeli missile strike. Israel rarely acknowledges strikes inside Syria but has said it would use military action to prevent weapons transfers to its enemies. Israel is alarmed by the expansion of operations by Iran and the terror group Hezbollah to support President Assad in Syria?s seven-year-long civil war. Pray that Israel will continue to carry out defensive attacks on all potential threats of attacks against Israeli citizens.

4. Israeli Reporter Attacked as She Covered Fire in Jaffa    INN News   Sept 3rd

An Israel Army Radio reporter was attacked by an Arab while she was covering a large fire in Jaffa earlier this week. The reporter was pushed and threatened by one of the family members who lived there. According to the report on the Walla Berenger website, the incident sparked widespread discussion among soldiers and employees at the military radio station. The news department head allegedly warned in a work Whatsapp group against leaks on the subject. Army Radio responded: “During coverage of the fire, the soldier was injured when she was next to the son of the deceased in the disaster. The son, who was enraged and angered at police conduct, raised his hand and hit the soldier’s back. “The soldier reported to her superiors and the incident was handled by the relevant channels,” the response said. Pray that the attacked is dealt with by the full force of the law

5. Israel Seals Off Gaza Strip After Riot on Tuesday    Israel Today News   Sept 5th
Just nine days after Gaza’s Erez border crossing was reopened it has again been sealed following a renewal of violent riots along the coastal enclave’s security fence. On Tuesday, hundreds of Gazans gathered at the fence to throw stones at the crossing terminal and the Israeli soldiers manning it. An Israeli army spokesman said the Erez crossing would remain closed until all the damage caused this week could be repaired. He stressed, however, that Israel would continue to allow the passage of humanitarian goods and people in need of emergency medical attention. The Erez crossing is the only Gaza border crossing into Israel for pedestrians. The Kerem Shalom and Karni crossings are for the transportation of goods only. Pray that Israel keeps the borders closed as long as possible and that the rioters realise that they are only hurting the innocent people of Gaza

6. President Trump Offered “Palestinians’ to Form a Confederation with Jordan   World Israel News  Sept 2nd

Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner presented a proposal to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to establish a confederation consisting of Jordan and the Palestinian Authority as part of United States President Donald Trump?s Middle East peace plan, Abbas told a delegation of Israeli lawmakers and Peace Now activists in Ramallah on Sunday. Abbas was referring to a meeting he attended in August 2017 with Kushner and US special envoy Jason Greenblatt. According to Abbas, he told the Americans that he would agree to a confederation only if Israel were a part of it as well.
?They asked me if I believe in a confederation with Jordan. I said ?yes, I want a triple confederation with Jordan and with Israel.? Abbas asked them if Israel would agree to such a proposal,? and accuses that United States of being ?hostile toward the ‘Palestinians’ and putting an end to the peace process.?
Pray that all peace plans that are not according to GOD’s plan will never come to pass

7. Israel Building Separation on Northern Border    Times of Israel News   Sept 6th

The Israeli military this week publicly unveiled its 11-kilometer-long, nine-meter-tall concrete border wall along the Lebanese border ? a barrier that is hotly contested by Lebanon, but that Israel maintains is lawful and fully in accordance with the international armistice line. In a briefing to reporters near the border, a senior army officer also issued a stern warning to the Lebanon-based Hezbollah terrorist army, saying that ?any of its forces who infiltrate into Israeli territory will not come back alive.? The senior officer said the Israel Defense Forces has seen increased cooperation between the Iran-backed Hezbollah and the Lebanese Armed Forces in the past year.  ?We see them working together, traveling in the same jeeps,? he said, speaking on condition of anonymity. ?Sometimes we see Hezbollah soldiers in LAF vests.? While most Lebanese soldiers wear camouflage uniforms, some members of the LAF?s intelligence units wear what looks like civilian attire topped with a vest identifying them as servicemen. One such person ? either an LAF intelligence officer or a Hezbollah member disguised as one ? was clearly visible on Wednesday afternoon, standing in a watchtower overlooking the Israeli town of Rosh Hanikra and a construction site where the new border wall is being built.  The concrete barrier is designed to serve two main functions: protect Israeli civilians and soldiers from sniper attacks, and prevent infiltration into Israel by Hezbollah operatives. Pray that this new wall will indeed prevent infiltration into northern Israel from Lebanon
