David’s Comment: The Fall Feasts of the LORD
Leviticus 23:2 Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the Feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be Holy convocations. even these
are My feasts. (Moedim – Appointed times)
We are now in the season of the Biblical Fall Feasts. They are often referred to as Jewish Feasts, but the Bible calls them the Feasts of the YHVH. This Fall Feast season began last week with the feast of Yom ha Teruah or the Feast of Trumpets (Shofars). The feasts of the LORD are memorials or reminders of what GOD has done in the past and a prophetic picture of what He is planning to do in the future. Most of these Moedim or Appointed Times are actually times that YHVH has set to come down and meet with His people. He announces His soon arrival with the sound of a shofar blast. We can see this very clearly in Exodus 19:16 when GOD comes to deliver the Torah to Moses And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there was thunder and lightning, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the shofar grew exceeding loud; so that all the people in the camp trembled. Shofars can only make a sound when breath (Hebrew = ruach) passes through it. I believe that it was the Spirit or Ruach of YHVH that created that sound to announce His arrival. As I wrote last week, the Feast of Trumpets or (Memorial of Shofars in Hebrew) is to remind us the GOD always announces His coming, to keep us awake and listening for His next Shofar blast on the day that Yeshua returns.
The next appointed time is Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement, from sunset this Friday to sunset on Shabbat. It is the most solemn day of the year for most Jewish people, but sadly there is no atonement available to the Jews or anyone else, apart from the Blood of Yeshua. Please be praying with us over the 24 hours of Yom Kippur, as we fast and pray with millions of Jewish people, and as they read the Scriptures and pray in synogogues all around the world, that GOD will lift the veil that He has placed on their eyes and heart. Only He can remove it, allowing them to see that Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel. (Pray Zechariah 12:9 – 10, Romans 11:26)
Yom Kippur is followed by the final Biblical feast – Succot or the Feast of Tabernacles, which begins on Wednesday evening and lasts for 7 days. Succot is the memorial of when the GOD of Israel dwelt with His people in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle. For those who are in the New Covenant, Succot is a prophetic anticipation of the fact that Yeshua will soon return to Jerusalem for the 1000 year Millenium reign. A rapidly growing number of Christians who believe the Bible and stand with Israel, have been coming to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles since 1980, and several thousand have, or are about to arrive in Jerusalem for this year’s celebration. This is a clear sign that we are living in the End Times, as the prophet Isaiah saw the nations flowing up to the mountain of the LORD in the latter days (Isaiah 2:2).
The alignment of the stars and planets that occured last Shabbat came and went with no significant event occuring, so once again many Christians and Messianic Jews were wrong. The Levitical Feast cycle is the only accurate and guaranteed roadmap of the LORD’s plans and purposes for Israel, the Church, and the Nations. That is why we recommend you do take the time to study the Feasts of the LORD, and being to acknowledge and celebrate YHVH’s Modeom – appointed times. There are many good resources for learning about the Feasts – you can find them in good Christian bookstores or on the Internet.
There is one more special day that begins at the end of Succot, but more about that next week.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom …… David & Josie

1. Israel Strikes Weapons Store at Damascus Airport Times of Israel News Sept 23rd
Israeli air strikes hit a weapons depot by Damascus airport overnight, targeting a warehouse belonging to Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which is allied with the Syrian government, a monitor said Friday. “Israeli warplanes targeted with rocket fire a weapons depot belonging to Hezbollah near the airport,” said the director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. There was no immediate official confirmation from either Damascus or Israel, but the Jewish state has been accused of carrying out multiple strikes in Syria, including earlier this month. Prime Minister Netanyahu warned on Tuesday that Israel would fight to prevent an “Iranian curtain” descending on the Middle East. “We will act to prevent Iran from establishing permanent military bases in Syria for its air, sea and ground forces,” he said. Pray that all threats to Israel will be detected and eliminated
2. Iran Displays New Missile Capable of Reaching Israel Times of Israel News Sept 23rd
Iran’s President Rouhani vowed on Friday that Iran would boost its ballistic missile capabilities despite criticism from the United States and also France. His comments came as Iran displayed a new missile at a military parade marking the anniversary of the outbreak of its devastating 1980-1988 war with Saddam Hussein?s Iraq. ?Whether you like it or not, we are going to strengthen our military capabilities which are necessary for deterrence,? Rouhani said in a speech broadcast live on state television. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani delivers his speech during the annual military parade marking the anniversary of the outbreak of its 1980-1988 war with Saddam Hussein?s Iraq, on September 22, 2017 in Tehran. ?We will strengthen not only our missiles but also our air, land and sea forces? When it comes to defending our country, we will ask nobody for their permission.? Criticism by the Donald Trump administration of a 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and major powers, including the United States, has focused heavily on Tehran?s continuing missile program. At the UN General Assembly last Wednesday, Rouhani said Iran has never sought nuclear weapons, and that its military arsenal, including its missiles ?are solely defensive deterrence.? But Washington says they breach the spirit of the agreement as they have the potential to carry a nuclear warhead and has imposed new sanctions over Tehran?s continuing launches and tests. Pray for a new revolution in Iran that will remove the Israel hating radical Islamic leadership
3. North Korea Threatens Israel Israel Today News Sept 25th
North Korea has responded to Israel’s siding with the United States against Pyongyang’s nuclear arms program by threatening to destroy the Jewish state. After Prime Minister Netanyahu criticized North Korea, the regime issued the following statement: “This is an unpardonable insult and provocation to the dignity and social system in the DPRK and the choice made by its people. “Israel not only represents dictatorial forces for aggression that trample down the legitimate right of the Palestinian people and indiscriminately kill them but also is a rogue group that poses a nuclear threat and makes terrorist attacks on its neighboring countries with lots of nuclear weapons.” Yes, North Korea actually accused Israel of regularly attacking its neighbors with nuclear weapons. Remember, they don’t get a lot of outside news and information in North Korea, so perhaps they can be excused for being so woefully confused? What’s not a joke is the possibility of North Korea passing on weapons, technology and other resources to enemies much closer to Israel’s borders. The Syrian nuclear reactor that Israel destroyed in 2007 is widely believed to have been built by North Korean engineers.
Pray that the present North Korean regime is removed immediately
4. Terrorist Expoits Border Work Pass to Murder 3 Israelis Israel Today News Sept 27th
Three Israeli security officers were shot dead by a Palestinian terrorist at the entrance to the Jerusalem suburb of Har Adar on Tuesday morning. One victim was identified as St.-Sgt. Solomon Gavria, a 20-year-old member of the Border Police, who had started his mandatory military service only 18 months ago. Gavria leaves behind his parents and three siblings. The second victim was identified as civilian security guard Youssef Ottman, a resident of the neighboring Arab village of Abu Ghosh. The identity of the third fatality had not yet been published by press time. A fourth Israeli victim was listed in seriously condition following the attack. The incident occurred during the early morning hours, when a large number of Palestinian laborers show up at the crossing point hoping to find work in the Israeli towns and villages the dot the hills to the west of Jerusalem. The terrorist exploited this normally peaceful crossing. Identified as a 37-year-old father of four from the PA village of Beit Surik, the terrorist had never before engaged in violence against Israel. As he approached the crossing point, he pulled out a pistol and shot at the Israeli guards. The terrorist himself was quickly shot and killed. Har Adar, which sits adjacent to the Green Line, and the surrounding towns and villages were noted for years of peaceful coexistence with neighboring Arabs, even during times of widespread terrorism elsewhere in the country. But this attack could change all that, many fear. Israeli authorities will now be far more strict in checking Arab workers, inevitably leading to greater frustration, tension and opportunity for violent confrontations. Pray for extra angelic protection in ll of Israel over the next 3 weeks of the Feasts
5. EU Ambassador to Israel Boycotting 50 Year Celebration INN News Sept 25th
Israel held a state ceremony in Gush Etzion this Wednesday marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Judea and Samaria from Jordanian occupation during the Six Day War of June 1967.
As is custom with state ceremonies, Israel extended invitations to the event to representatives of foreign states and bodies. The European Union?s Ambassador to Israel, Emanuele Giaufret, will did not attend the event, despite having received a formal invitation. Staff at Giaufret?s office confirmed that the ambassador had indeed been invited to the ceremony, adding that his decision to snub the event was consistent with the views espoused by the EU?s member states. Giaufret?s office cited the location of the event as the reason for his refusal to participate. “The ambassador will attend any official events of the State of Israel over the Green Line.? Knesset Deputy Speaker Oren Hazan ridiculed Giaufret?s decision not to attend. ?Green Line? As far as I know, there isn?t any green river that separates Judea and Samaria from the rest of the Land of Israel. There is no physical barrier stopping the ambassador from attending the event. If the EU diplomatic staff have a problem, they are welcome to solve it with a one-way ticket.? Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and former Ambassador to the US Michael Oren (Kulanu) called on Giaufret to rethink his decision not to attend. ?The ambassador?s refusal to attend the event marking 50 years since the liberation of Judea and Samaria is unfortunate and outrageous. If the European Union and Europe want to play a role in the region, they have to accept facts on the ground that have been here for 50 years.? Pray that the EU will meet its end as soon as possible
6. Israel Celebrating 50 Years of Regaining the Jewish Heartland Israel Today News Sept 28th
It was 50 years ago that Israel liberated Judea and Samaria from Jordanian occupation and began resettling the biblical heartland in accordance with both the Word of God and the original League of Nations decisions. At a ceremony marking the occasion on Wednesday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Settlement is important to you in the same way that it is important to me, so I say very clearly: There will be no further uprooting of settlements in the land of Israel. “The way to make peace is not through uprooting ? not of Jews and not of Arabs. We did not get peace when we uprooted settlements, we got terror and missiles and we will not do that again. “Any territory that falls into the hands of radical Islam becomes the basis for violence, murder and death, and so we will not abandon our national home to danger. Instead we will strengthen our home with this momentum.” While Netanyahu ran all of his past election campaigns on a platform of strengthening the Jewish communities in the disputed territories, he has come under harsh criticism for repeatedly bowing to international pressure by implementing construction freezes. One of Netanyahu’s most outspoken critics in this regard has been Education Minister Naftali Bennett, who told Wednesday’s gathering in the Etzion Bloc of settlements south of Jerusalem: “I don?t take such a step lightly, in order to implement sovereignty, it takes timing and courage. There is no better time than now, as it is clear that we are here by right and not by grace. “There is no better time that this, even if world resists, we shall overcome it. The world also understands what the Israeli public understands, the Land of Israel will never again be divided!” Lets rejoice with the Jewish Zionists and let us give thanks to the LORD for the miracle of the Six Day War in 1967
7. Jews Now Forbidden to Carry the Four Species on Temple Mount Israel Today News Sept 26th
Jews ascending the Temple Mount on the upcoming Sukkot holiday will be forbidden from bringing the “Four Species” with them, police have decided, ruling that they violate the status quo that prohibits Jewish prayer. The “Four Species” are the Etrog (citrus) Hadas (myrtle), the Aravah (willow) and the Lulav (palm frond) that are mandated by the Torah to be used in special prayers that are part of the synagogue services on each of the seven days of the holiday of Sukkot, excepting the Sabbath. The legal advisor of the Jerusalem Police, responded to an appeal arguing that barring the Four Species violated freedom of worship by ruling that bringing the articles to the Temple Mount goes against the status quo on the site prohibiting Jewish prayer. He wrote that ” ?in the framework of the rules of the Temple Mount, in accordance with the status quo in the area, ritual activity with overt external features, including the Four Species, is forbidden. We are forced to deny your request.” The current status quo on the Temple Mount explicitly forbids Jewish prayer. In recent years, police have banned Jews from bringing any articles that might cause a Jew to pray, such as banning visitors from carrying drinking water over suspicions that it will lead one to say a blessing. The chairman of the B?Tsalmo organization, said in response: ?It is regrettable that the legal advisor of the Jerusalem District justifies a discriminatory policy. His attempt to ignore the fact that this is a prohibition against Jewish prayers while Muslims are allowed full freedom of worship will lead us to write a letter asking him to clarify the matter.? Pray that the status of Muslim control over the Temple Mount will soon change to Jewish control
