David’s Comment: Praying for Israel is not Optional
Psalm 122:6 PRAY for the Peace of Jerusalem
For every man or woman of GOD, it is the GOD of Israel who you are serving, worshipping and looking forward to spending Eternity in His Kingdom. And I believe that the God of Israel has given me a specific mandate to make sure that everyone who is on the path to the Kingdom of YHVH, has a personal revelation of what the Apostle Paul was teaching in Romans 11:17 and Ephesians 2:11 – 19. In the Bible, Israel is many times referred to as a fig tree or an olive tree, and Paul uses the picture of an olive tree to help every Born Again person understand that we have been intimately connected to Israel by being grafted-in to the Olive Tree. Simply, being in a blood covenant relationship with the GOD of Israel means that you are in an intimate relationship with Israel and the Jewish people. This relationship is not an optional extra for those who find Israel interesting or attractive, nor is it optional to be praying for Israel and the Jewish people.
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem In the Hebrew the word pray is sha’al – to ask for and it is an order or command from YHVH to everyone who calls Him their GOD. Isaiah 62:6-7 You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. (NKJ). Therefore if we make mention of the GOD of Israel or call upon His name as other versions translate it, which of course we all do, then we see that it is definately not optional for all of us to be obedient to that command and pray.
Over the last 51 years, since the end of the Six Day War in June 1967, the situation in Israel has grown more and more serious as the conflict between Israel and her neighbours has taken its course, and the death toll on both the Israeli and Arab sides increased. Then the tragedy of the Islamic terror attack on the Twin Towers on September 11th 2001 turned the conflict global. The USA launched its “War on Terror” and the World would never be the same again, particularly air travel. So much of which has happened, is happening, and will happen in the future of our world, has a direct or indirect connection to Israel, so lets bring our focus back to the little nation that has had, and will continue to have a profound effect on the rest of the nations.
The main purposes for the weekly Carmel Alert is …. 1/ to help offset the inbalance and anti-Israel bias of the secular media and 2/ to help you to focus your prayer and intercession. Because the true Church is grafted into the Natural Olive Tree (Israel), her very existence is supported by Israel’s existence (Romans 11:17-18). Therefore it is in the Church’s own best interests to ensure that Israel is spiritually protected through prayer and that we do our utmost to fulfill that command to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I have shared many times that Josie and I don’t believe that means we should be praying for a man designed peace, but for the God designed peace that can only become a reality when the Prince of Peace returns to personally enforce His peace and watch over the entire world from Jerusalem.
Acts 3:21 says that Yeshua is being restrained in Heaven until all of the words that YHVH spoke through the Prophets are fulfilled, specifically that ALL of the Jewish people are back in the Promised Land – Ezekiel 36:8 – 10 and Ezekiel 39:28 – 29. Also as the Apostle Paul prophesied in Romans 11:26 – 27, one day ALL Israel will be saved, referring back to Hosea 3:5 and Jeremiah 30:9. The fulfillment of those verses will lead to the 144,000 end time Jewish evangelists and, then the end will come and Yeshua will be released from Heaven when His own prophecy is fulfilled when the Jewish people in Jerusalem will look upon Him who they pierced and welcome Him back with Baruch habah b’ Shem Adonai.
This is the mandate of the Intercessors for the Restoration of Israel prayer network that Josie administrates – to pray for the peace of Jerusalem – the real peace. For us this means to pray very focused prayers in line with the prophecies which we believe must be fulfilled before the Prince can return to establish peace in Jerusalem and all the Earth. Therefore the primary focus of the IRI intercessory ministry is Aliyah (the return of the Jews to the homeland) and for the Salvation of the Jewish people in Israel. We believe in the power of having many people praying the same focused prayer in agreement. If you are not yet a part of the IRI network of intercessors, but are sensing the Holy Spirit prompting you to fulfill that call to pray for the peace of Jerusalem in a more dedicated way, please communicate by email with Josie at email@example.com and she will answer any queries you may have and add your name to receive the monthly intercessory points bulletin.
If you also feel to take your commitment a level higher then we want to invite you to participate in the 2019 IRI Prayer and Intercession Summit. This summit will take place from Sunday March 10th in Jerusalem and will finish on Mt.Carmel on Sunday March 17th. The summit consists of prophetic worship and intercession, addresses by key local Messianic leaders, and we pray at strategic sites
in Jerusalem, the Galilee and in the North to declare God’s word and promises over this nation. Here are some of the strategic sites we plan to visit to worship and pray …….
Outside and hopefully the Knesset (Government building in Jerusalem) – on top of the Mt of Olives – At the Western Wall
Overlooking the Valley of Armageddon – and to pray and declare on the top of Mt. Carmel where Elijah had his quest with the Baals.
A few 100 metres from the Syrian border on the Golan Heights – at the Sea of Galilee
We are believing for at least 12 nations to be represented at this years summit. So far we have people coming 7 nations. We would love to see more representatives from Africa, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Germany, Sweden and the Seychelles. We have no representatives at this stage from Australia, Malaysia, Sweden or Finland. If you are interested in participating as a representative of your nation, particularly the last 4, then please email Josie for more information firstname.lastname@example.org.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ….. David & Josie

2. Iran Threatens War After New US Sanctions Kick In World News Israel Nov 4th
I ran greeted the re-imposition of U.S. sanctions on Monday with air defense drills and an acknowledgement from President Hassan Rouhani that the nation faces a ?war situation,? raising Mideast tensions as America?s maximalist approach to the Islamic Republic takes hold. The sanctions end all the economic benefits America granted Tehran for its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, though Iran for now continues to abide by the accord that saw it limit its enrichment of uranium. Not threatening to resume higher enrichment for the moment, Iranian officials in recent months have made a point to threaten they could resume at any time faster than before. Pray that the current Iranian regime is removed and that an Israel friendly leadership takes over
3. Jerusalem Terror Attack Prevented INN News Nov 6th
An attempted terror attack was foiled Tuesday morning, in the Adumim bloc just east of Jerusalem. According to initial reports from the scene, a female terrorist attempted to stab Israelis near a gas station at the entrance to the Israeli town of Mishor Adumim Tuesday morning. Witnesses say the female terrorist charged a group of soldiers while brandishing a knife. “A female terrorist attempted to stab border police officers at the petrol station near Mishor Adumim,” the police spokesman said. Security officials say the terrorist had tried to hide in a falafel shop next to the gas station, and later refused to leave the establishment. After security forces were called to the shop, the terrorist left, and was later found en route to the neighboring Israeli town of Alon. When soldiers confronted the terrorist, she charged at them and shouted in Arabic while brandishing scissors and a knife. Israeli security forces present at the scene opened fire and neutralized the terrorist before she could reach her target, however. Lets pray that all such attacks are prevented and the terrorists neutralised
4. PM Netanyahu Praises USA for New Sanctions on Iran United With Israel News Nov 6th
Israeli PM Netanyahu praised the U.S. sanctions that snapped back into effect against Iran on Monday, calling them ?historic? and saying that they will ?strangle? Iranian state-sponsored terrorism.
Netanyahu said Monday at parliament that the Trump administration?s decision to restore sanctions was already having an effect. He called the move ?a big day for the State of Israel.? Israel has been a fierce opponent of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal from which the U.S. withdrew this year, saying the deal didn?t rein in Iran?s regional military activities. The new sanctions against Iran?s shipping, financial and energy sectors come into effect Monday. The U.S. says the sanctions are not aimed at toppling the government, but at persuading it to radically change its policies, including its support for regional militant groups and its development of long-range ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. On Friday night, Trump issued a statement related to the sanctions, explaining, ?Our objective is to force the regime into a clear choice: either abandon its destructive behavior or continue down the path toward economic disaster.? Pray that the present evil Iranian leadership is replaed by an Israel friendly government
5. Terror Bomb Dscovdered at Joseph’s Tomb INN News Nov 7th
On Tuesday, Israeli Defense Forces protecting a pilgrimage of 1,000 Jewish worshipers to the Tomb of Joseph discovered two grenades hidden at the site. The hand grenades were of makeshift design and appeared to be manufactured locally, according to reports. In addition, gunfire was directed at an Israel Defense Forces vehicle and Palestinian Arabs threw rocks and Molotov cocktails. Although the Tomb of Joseph located near the city of Schechem (Nablus) is completely under Arab control as set forth in the Oslo Accords, Jews retain special rights to pray at the tomb. Violence has broken out in the past during similar visits. In 2017, 1,000 pilgrims visiting the tomb on the second night of Hanukkah were also met with Palestinian riots. Israel evacuated Joseph?s Tomb on Oct. 7, 2000, 18 years ago today. Although the tomb is said to be holy to both religions, following the evacuation, Palestinian Arabs stormed the site, causing extensive damage. Let’s give thanks to the LORD for the prevention of this potentially tragic terror attack.
6. Possible Peace Deal With Hamas World News Israel Nov 8th
Egyptian President el-Sisi succeeded in convincing Palestinian Authority leaders Abbas to sign off on a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, the London-based Arabic daily Al-Hayat reported. Al-Sisi met with Abbas in Sharm al-Sheikh on Saturday. Al-Sisi laid out the efforts Egypt had made to bring about a truce between Israel and Hamas. He also said the moment offered an opportunity to give the residents of the Gaza Strip some breathing room. Abbas agreed on condition that the truce take place in two stages ? the first in two to three weeks and the second in six months. In the first stage, according to the report Israel will transfer $90 million supplied by the Qatari government to the Gaza Strip in order to pay Hamas salaries. Israel reportedly says this must be done under U.N. auspices. Israel will also agree to expand exports from the Gaza Strip. Last week (Nov. 3), a Lebanese paper with close ties to Hamas printed a copy of the main points of a draft deal between Israel and Hamas. The Al-Hayat newspaper reported on Thursday that Abbas has agreed to allow the truce between Hamas and Israel to be signed. Among the 10 points outlined, Israel will allow 5,000 Gazans to work in Israel, Hamas will end riots on the border and employment projects will be launched to employ 30,000 university graduates in Gaza. Pray for a peaceful Friday and Shabbat at the Israel – Gaza border
7. Israel Goes to War With Measles World Israel News Nov 8th
Israel has launched a widespread operation to inoculate the population against measles after an outbreak in the country which claimed the life of one baby in Jerusalem. After years of measles lying dormant, a new outbreak has occurred in segments of the population that have refused early-age inoculation. It has now spread to many areas of the country. In Israel, several religious sects oppose vaccination, and the Health Ministry has stepped up a campaign to increase vaccination rates in unprotected communities in recent months. For the first time in decades, the Ministry of Health has begun to inoculate adults from ages 14 to 61, as well as children. Some 1,400 have contracted measles this year, as opposed to only 34 in 2017. Over 30,000 Israelis have been exposed in various ways to measles. Pray that Measles is totally and quickly eradicated in Israel.
