Isaiah 66:8 Can a nation be born in one day, who ever heard of such a thing !
Who has seen a miracle take place in their lives? Who has had something supernatural happen to them? Maybe a number of you can say “I have” to those two questions. But who has seen a dead person come back to life? I don’t think too many of our readers would be able to say “I have” to that question. However if we are friends of Israel, then we need to realise that we have all seen a dead person come back to life, and in fact not just one person but an entire nation!
Sixty-Nine years ago (and in the preceding years):
? The Jewish people rose from the ashes of the Holocaust and came back to life again.
? The Hebrew language was revived after not being a spoken language for almost two thousand years.
? An army comprised of a few rogue rebel groups and partisans joined together to become the first Israeli army in thousands of years and today the Israel Defense Force (IDF) is one of the most moral, ethical, strong and quality military forces in the world.
? Israel became a sovereign nation populated by the Jewish people returning from all corners of the earth!
We have all seen a miracle in our lives, and in fact we who dwell in Israel today live a miracle day by day.
The prophets of old spoke of this miracle and longed to see it take place, even if they didn?t fully understand what they were speaking of or how it would look. Isaiah 66:8 Can a nation be born in one day? There are many who view this verse as one of the clearest prophecies regarding the revival and rebirth of the nation of Israel once again. What we are seeing and experiencing today in Israel is nothing short of a modern day miracle.
This past Tuesday the entire nation of Israel celebrated the 69th Independence Day. We celebrated the physical restoration of Israel with barbecued steaks, popcorn and candy floss, while the blue and white flag of Israel flew all over the country. If we still celebrate the physical restoration of Israel and the Jewish people with such passion after 69 years, then what will happen when the spiritual restoration happens? It is only a matter of time, when and not if. We read it in Romans 11:15 Life from the dead and Romans 11:27 One day all Israel will be saved. We need to remind ourselves that if their physical restoration is like life from the dead, then even more so their spiritual revival!
The prophet Ezekiel spoke of both the Jewish people’s physical and spiritual revivals in the vision of the valley of dry bones, in chapter 37. This is a supernatural event where God asks the prophet if the very dry bones, which are scattered all over the valley will live again? The prophet can only answer in return ?only you know Lord? as if the situation is too dire for man to think that life can return to those bones. The dry bones were scattered all over the valley. This reminds me of the Jewish people who were scattered all over the world. Today there are people living in Israel from every continent ? North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and even New Zealand – the islands of the sea. The bones have come back together from all over the world. Verses 7-8 speaks about this happening but ends by stating that there was still no spirit within them, no real life.
We are at a intersection. Interesting things always happen at intersections. When we travel on a straight road we can only go straight, but at an intersection we can go straight, turn left, turn right or do a U-turn. Presently we are at the intersection between verse 8 and 9. Israel is restored physically, but there is still no spirit in most of them, no real life from God. In verse 9, despite them having all elements of a living body He still calls them ?slain? (dead). But in verse 10 the prophet calls the Ruach (Spirit) to come upon them, and when it does they then rise up to become an exceedingly large army.
This week on Independence Day we celebrated the first part of this great resurrection, but the greatest part is still ahead of us ? and we all have a big part to play.
I pray that we may not only know and take part in the celebrations of the state of Israel?s independence as a nation, but that we would see speedily in our day, and take part in, the spiritual independence and resurrection of our people!
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.

1. President Trump May Announce Relocation of US Embassy During Upcoming Visit to Israel INN News April 29th
President Donald Trump is likely to use his upcoming trip to Israel to announce the relocation of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a senior Republican official said Thursday. President Trump is planning a trip to Israel, and is in talks with Israeli officials regarding the trip. A separate report published Thursday morning by Yediot Ahronot claimed President Trump plans to recognize Jerusalem as the united capital of Israel, though no change in the location of the US Embassy will be forthcoming. And a Republican Member of Congress who lead a fact-finding mission for a possible embassy move claimed the president would likely use his visit to Israel to announce the relocation of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Ron DeSantis (R-Florida), who has oversight on American embassies around the world as House Oversight National Security Subcommittee Chairman, said the timing of President Trump?s trip to Israel was no accident. The visit, he noted, coincides with the annual Jerusalem Day holiday in Israel, commemorating the liberation of the Old City of Jerusalem from Jordanian occupation. Jerusalem Day will be celebrated May 24, while Trump?s visit would likely span May 22 – 23. The timing of Trump?s trip is also notable in that no previous president has ever visited Israel so early in their administration. ?What better time could there be to announce the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem when you are there celebrating with our Israeli friends on this very important 50th anniversary of the liberation of Jerusalem,? DeSantis said. Lets pray that Trump will indeed make the Embassy move official.
2. UN Altered British Declaration Record INN News April 29th
An official United Nations document published by the Division for Palestinian Rights of the United Nations Secretariat contains a deliberately altered record of a 1922 parliamentary House of Lords debate on the Balfour Declaration. The Balfour Declaration ? dated 2 November 1917 – called for the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people ? it being clearly understood that nothing would be done which might prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country. The Balfour Declaration was subsequently written into international law after being incorporated into the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine on 24 July 1922. The upcoming centenary of the Balfour Declaration has prompted a concerted international campaign calling on the British Government to apologise for another Government?s decision taken 100 years ago. Baroness Anelay ? Minister of State (Foreign Commonwealth Office) told the House of Lords on 3 April that no such apology would be made. Lets pray that the British do not cave in to Muslim pressure and issue any kind of apology
3. Israel Hints that it Carried Out Attack on Syrian Airport Israel Today News April 28th
Israel?s Minister of Intelligence Israel Katz on Thursday strongly hinted that the Jewish state had carried out a large aerial strike on Damascus International Airport earlier in the day.
Various regional and international media reported massive explosions on the outskirts of Syria?s main airport early Thursday morning. Hours later, Katz told Israel Radio: ?We are acting to prevent the transfer of sophisticated weapons from Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon by Iran. When we receive serious information about the intention to transfer weapons to Hezbollah, we will act. This incident is totally consistent with this policy.? Arab media noted that warehouses used by Hezbollah and Iran to store weapons are located at the airport in Damascus. Syria previously threatened that if Israel again attacked targets on Syrian soil, there would be a severe military response. Pray that Israel continues to take any necessary action to safeguard the people of Israel
4. North Korea Threatens Israel Jerusalem Post April 29th
Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman hurt the “dignity of the supreme leadership” of North Korea, state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday. In an interview with a Hebrew news site this week, the hawkish Liberman stated that North Korea?s leader Kim Jong-un is a madman and together with the leaders of Iran and Syria was part of an ?insane and radical? gang that was bent on undermining international stability. “The reckless remarks of the Israeli defense minister are sordid and wicked behavior and grave challenge to the DPRK [North Korea],” the North Korean statement read. The statement threatened Israel and anyone who “dares hurt the dignity of its supreme leadership,” with “merciless, thousand-fold punishment.” Pray that North Korea is not foolish enough to pick a fight with Israel
5. UNESCO Votes Against Israel Again on Independence Day Times of Israel News / INN May 2nd
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization voted last Tuesday afternoon to adopt a resolution denying Israel’s rights to its own capital, Jerusalem. The vote took place on Israel’s Independence Day. 23 nations voted in favor of the resolution, compared to 22 which voted against it. 3 nations abstained. Among the countries which voted against the resolution were the United States, Italy, Britain, Holland, Lithuania, Greece, Paraguay, Ukraine, Togo and Germany. The resolution declares that “all legislative and administrative measures and actions taken by Israel, the occupying Power, which have altered or purport to alter the character and status of the Holy City of Jerusalem, and in particular the ?basic law? on Jerusalem, are null and void and must be rescinded forthwith.” The resolution also condemns Israel for the military conflicts with the Hamas terrorist organization, which rules the Gaza Strip. Israel?s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, slammed the resolution as an assault on the history of the Jewish people. ?This biased and blatantly deceitful decision, and the attempts to dispute the connection between Israel and Jerusalem, will not change the simple fact that this city is the historic and eternal capital of the Jewish people. Israel will not stand silently by in the face of this shameful resolution,? Danon said. Pray that the LORD will defend Israel’s right to all of the Promised Land, especially Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria
6. Israel to Deduct US $1 Million Support to UN
Israeli PM Binyamin Netanyahu spoke during Wednesday’s Knesset meeting about UNESCO’s latest anti-Israel resolution and thanked the countries which opposed it.”Yesterday, UNESCO again passed a delusional resolution regarding Israel’s status in Jerusalem, the capital of the Jewish People for 3,000 years,” Netanyahu said. “I very much appreciate the across-the-board unity of almost all political parties in rejecting this absurd decision. I would also like to say that this systematic harassment has a price. In wake of the resolution, I have instructed the Foreign Ministry to deduct $1 million from the funds that Israel transfers to the UN. Israel will not sit by while the organization calls for the denial of our sovereignty in Jerusalem. I must also note one point of light. More countries opposed this resolution than last year and fewer countries supported it. I thank the countries that acceded to my request to vote against this resolution, especially the US, which did not need any sort of appeal. But I would especially like to thank the Italian Foreign Minister and Prime Minister.” Italy was the first European country to announce that it would oppose the resolution. “Also opposing it were Greece, Great Britain, Germany, Lithuania and the Netherlands. I would also like to thank the President of Ukraine and the leaders of Paraguay and Togo. For the first time in UNESCO, more countries voted to oppose or abstained than voted in favor, and of course this is important. “We are also working constantly to reduce, and I hope one day to cancel altogether, the UN theater of the absurd regarding the State of Israel. Pray that the UNESCO leaders will encounter the God of Israel and change their wicked ways
7. Israel’s President Calls for More Countries to Move Embassies to Jerusalem
Israeli’s President Reuven Rivlin called on the world?s nations to recognize Jerusalem as Israel?s capital and move their embassies to the city. Minutes after the UNESCO cultural agency voted on the resolution denying Israel’s ties to Jerusalem, the president told foreign ambassadors stationed in Israel that it was ?absurd? that the world refuses to recognize that Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. ?It is time to put an end to the absurd. It is time to recognize Jerusalem, as the official capital of the State of Israel. It is time to move all the official embassies here to Jerusalem,? he said at an Independence Day reception for ambassadors to Israel and other members of the diplomatic corps at his official residence in Jerusalem. Foreign dignitaries have been coming to Jerusalem for 70 years to participate in official meetings at the Knesset, the President?s Residence and the Prime Minister?s Office, Rivlin said. Addressing the gathered diplomats directly, the 77-year-old Rivlin said that when most of them were born, Jerusalem was already Israel?s capital city. Since the days of King David, there was not, there is not, and there never will be any other reality,? he said. Lets call upon the LORD to motivate many nations to move their embassies back to Jerusalem
