David’s Comment: Shana Tovah – Have a Good Year
Exodus 12:1 – 2 And JHVH spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, this month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first
month of the year to you.
Last Shabbat (Saturday) March 17th was a very special day for a number of reasons ……
1/ In the Biblical calendar the date last Shabbat was Nisan 1 or the first day of the Hebrew month Nisan. That means it was Rosh Chodesh or the Head of the Month. The Biblical calendar is based on the Moon rather that the Sun, as is the Gregorian calendar. The Biblical months all begin with the New Moon. YHVH gave Moses explicit instructions for the Israelites to remember and celebrate the New Moon.
2/ More importantly Nisan 1 is the 1st day of the year, or the beginning of the New Year. The Biblical New Year occurs only 14 days before the Passover festival, which begins on Nisan 14 and celebrates the Exodus from slavery in Egypt to freedom in the Promised Land – the ultimate ‘New Beginning’ for the Jewish people. Today most Jews celebrate the New Year on the 1st day of the 7th month, but I can not see how the 7th month can be the beginning of the year. The Biblical name for the festival on the 1st day of the 7th month is actually Yom ha Teruah, or the Memorial of Blowing Shofara. A good number of Bible commentators believe that the Rapture will occur on this date, and I believe that the Devil has hidden the real relevance of this Holy day by hiding its real name.
3/ This Nisan 1 was a very, very special new beginning for the Silver family. Our 4th grand-daughter, who was due to be born on March 13th, tarried for 4 days and was born early in the morning of March 17th or Nisan 1. All of the family, especially Keren, were growing impatient for the birth, but when the baby finally made her debut, we realised the signifcance of the date she was born, and it became very obvious that GOD was in absolute control, and that HE had given the Silver family a very special gift to celebrate the New Year. The little girls name is Selah Hodayah Silver. Selah is from the Psalms and means a Holy Pause, and Hodayah means thanks to Yah.
We are all believing that little Selah Hodayah, our special New Year gift from GOD, is a sign that HE has an amazing year of positive change and increase in store for the Silver family and the ministries that HE has called us to serve Him in.
And we pray that this Biblical year will also bring positive change and increase for you and your families. SHANA TOVAH
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom …… David & Josie

2. Another Israeli Stabbed to Death in Jerusalem World News Israel March 17
As Israelis buried two victims of Palestinian terror Sunday, both in their 20s, another young man was killed in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem. Adiel Kolman, a 32-year-old father of four, was stabbed and killed close to the Temple Mount late Sunday afternoon. Critically wounded in the chest and limbs, he was brought to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center for treatment. “After being notified by the Command center to the incident in the Old City, I arrived at the scene and found one person suffering from a stab wound in their upper chest. He was in serious condition. I treated him at the scene for his injuries following which he was transported from the location of the incident to the hospital for further care and observation,? said the volunteer first responder. The victim ?was suffering from numerous stab wounds to his upper body and limbs. We treated him using a special bandage to stop bleeding, a Magen David Adom medic said. A policeman shot the terrorist, who died of his wounds shortly thereafter. Earlier the same day, the 2 victims of a car-ramming on Friday, were laid to rest. Pray that the families of the victimms will come to know Yeshua as a result of their sad loss
3. IAF Jets Bomb Gaza Targets After Explosions at the Border Times of Israel News March 17th
Israeli Air Force jets carried out airstrikes on a Hamas target in the central Gaza Strip on Saturday night in retaliation for a bombing on the southern border earlier in the day. The raid came just hours after a bomb planted near the Israel-Gaza border exploded, causing no casualties. Israeli tanks earlier on Saturday had destroyed a Hamas post in the area in response to the bombing.
The army said it held the Gaza terrorist group Hamas, which controls the enclave, responsible for the explosion at the security fence. It said a Hamas ?terror target? in central Gaza was struck by the Israeli fire overnight Saturday-Sunday, without elaborating. The IDF said there were no troops near the bomb when it detonated, the latest in a series of attempted bomb attacks on Israeli troops. On Thursday, two improvised explosive devices were detonated as a military patrol vehicle drove by the security fence surrounding northern Gaza, prompting the Israel Defense Forces to retaliate with tank fire at terror targets. There were no Israeli injuries reported. On Friday, Israel?s military liaison to the Palestinians issued a warning to Hamas about the bombs, saying, ?The provocations by Hamas and other terrorist organizations could lead to an escalation? of violence along the Gaza border. Improvised explosive devices are a concern for the IDF, as they are relatively easy and inexpensive to produce and can be set off from afar. Last month, four IDF soldiers were injured when an IED was detonated along the southern Gaza fence. Pray that the IDF keeps a firm control on the Israel / Gaza border
4. IDF Bombs 2 Gaza Tunnels Times of Israel News March 17th
The Hamas terror group which rules the Gaza Strip responded to the destruction of two tunnels by the IDF on Sunday by downplaying one of them as an old tunnel that hadn?t been used for years, and by saying Israel would bear the consequences for the escalation of tensions. The tunnel demolitions came as tensions between Israel and terror groups in the Gaza Strip have risen in recent weeks after a number of bombs exploded near IDF patrols along the border, sparking reprisal attacks. According to an IDF spokesman, the cross-border passage was an ?old tunnel? that was built before the 2014 Gaza war and partially destroyed during the conflict. He said Hamas was trying to ?revive? the passage by connecting an intact portion that penetrated Israeli territory to a new tunnel. The other target, which was destroyed by Israeli fighter jets around midnight on Saturday, was a ?subterranean complex? in the central Gaza Strip, according to Conricus. Pray that all existing tunnel and any tunnels under construction will be exposed and destroyed
5. Israel Comfirms it Destoyed Syria’s Nuclear Facility in 2007 Israel Today News March 20th
Israel has formally acknowledged what everyone already knew – that its air force destroyed Syria’s nuclear reactor on September 6, 2007. For 10 years now, Israeli officials have merely winked when asked about the operation. Now that it’s official, the IDF is calling the covert bombing operation deep inside Syrian territory a warning shot for other enemies. “The message of the attack on the reactor in 2007 is that Israel will not accept the construction of a capability that threatens the existence of the State of Israel. That was the message in ?81. That was the message in 2007. And that is the message to our enemies for the future,” said IDF Chief of Staff Eisenkot. Both Defense Minister Liberman and Intelligence Minister Katz more directly suggested that if Iran continues to seek nuclear weapons, it’s next. “Our enemies? motivation has increased in recent years, but so has the might of the IDF? This equation should be understood by anyone in the Middle East,” said Liberman. Katz tweeted that “the courageous decision of the Israeli government almost 11 years ago to destroy the nuclear reactor in Syria and the successful operation following it sends a clear message: Israel will never allow countries like Iran who threaten its existence to have nuclear weapons.” Pray that Iran is wise enough not to test Israel’s resolve
6. PA Leader in Poor Health Israel New Report March 17
Violence is also expected to break out in the West Bank as soon as Mahmoud Abbas either dies or can no longer rule. He is already 13 years into what was meant to be a four year presidency! The fight for the succession to the leadership of the Palestinian Authority is expected to be bloody. Last week, Abbas was hospitalised at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for medical examinations. Abbas, aged 82, suffers from serious heart problems, and according to Palestinian sources in Fatah, he has stomach cancer as well. His death will be an enormous game-changer. A senior Fatah official has been appointed as a temporary stand-in for Abbas in case the head of Fatah and the P.A. becomes unfit to continue in his positions before elections take place. Pray that the present peace situation will hold in the event of Abbas no longer being the leader
7. New Israeli Technology Will Replace Glasses, Contact Lenses & Laser Treatment
Israeli researchers say they have developed a ?revolutionary? way to improve eyesight and do away with glasses and contact lenses, which they say will be able to be done at home with a smartphone, a small laser device, and special eye drops. The technology was developed by researchers at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and Bar-Ilan University. The three researchers worked together on the project after the inventor said he had a ?dream? of getting rid of his glasses. ?I said we have to do something, so we brainstormed together and within a few hours we came up with this idea.? The researchers are now raising funds to experiment on live pigs or rabbits and to follow up the effect of the drops over a longer period of time. They hope to test out the technology on humans in the summer of 2019. Pray that this technology becomes widely available as soon as possible – (except to the BDS people)
