David’s Comment: An Invitation to Come and Pray for Israel in Israel
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
Isaiah 62:6 – 7 You who call upon My name – Do not be silent and give me no rest until I make Jerusalem a praise in all of the Earth
It is very clear from the above verses (and others) that the LORD expects those who love and serve Him to make Jerusalem a priority in our prayer lives. The obvious reason for that is when the time is right for GOD to re-establish His Kingdom on the Earth, the capital city of the Kingdom will be Jerusalem, and the Father will send His Son Yeshua back down to rule His Kingdom from His address on the Earth, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
Understanding the above paragraph should bring an immediate understanding of the Israeli / Arab conflict and the events we see taking place in Israel and the Middle East. What is unfolding right in front of our eyes, is the fulfillment of the words of the prophets of ancient Israel, and the GOD of Israel bringing this age to its end. If what we are witnessing are not the indicators of Yeshua’s soon return, then that day could be hundreds or thousands of years in the future. As you will have gathered from my previous comments, or if you have heard me speaking at a meeting over the last few years, I personally believe that the restoration of Israel in 1948 is the clearest sign that we are indeed living in the time that the Bible calls the Last Days.
The restoration process began in 1897 with the first meeting of the Zionists in Basel, Switzerland, where prominent Jews living in Europe, began to discuss how to restore the Jewish homeland. Following the tragedy of the Holocaust the United Nations agreed to the restoration of a homeland for the Jews in 1947, and on May 14th 1948. the modern State of Israel was born. As increasing numbers of Jewish people returned to the land of their forefathers, the neigbouring Arab nations were not happy, and the reborn nation endured one war after another. As a result of the miraculous outcome of the Six Day War in 1967, Jerusalem was reunited under Jewish control for the first time in almost 1900 years. And the rest of the story is recent history, and at the same time is still an ongoing saga, a saga that attracts the attention and the anger of the enemy of the Kingdom.
Yes, the end is very close, but there is still much to be fulfilled and restored before Yeshua can be released from Heaven (Acts 3:21). Each one of us can make a difference by our solidarity and prayer for Israel, which will help to hasten the day of the Lord’s return (2 Peter 3:12). This is why Josie began the Intercessors for the Restoration of Israel ministry which functions alongside Out of Zion. The end goal of both ministries is to motivate Christians to make praying for Israel a priority, which we truly believe will hasten the day of Yeshua’s return. As I wrote above, the enemy is not happy about the existence of Israel and the Jewish people, and he is doing everything in his power to deceive the nations, and even some Jews, to put an end to it. That is the reality behind much of the news we see in the media almost every day, and it is the reason we are trying our best to raise the level of prayer and intercession for Israel. If you are sensing the Holy Spirit prompting you to increase your prayer for Israel and the Jewish people, please visit the dedicated webpage http://www.out-of-zion.com/about/intercessors-for-israel/about-the-i-r-i-ministry. Josie sends out a monthly bulletin that contains current prayer points relating the ongoing restoration process, which will enable you to pray the same things as the other people who receive the bulletin. If you are sensing that you should be connected to the IRI network, please write to Josie at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask her to add you to her mailing list.
FInally, we want to give you a special invitation to come and pray for Israel in Israel. We are holding our 15th annual IRI prayer summit / tour from March 10 to 16. As well as praying for Israel and the Jewish people at strategic locations during the day, each night we will be having times of anointed worship, followed by rich teaching from local Messianic leaders. We will also visit the Mount of Olives, the Western Wall, pray at the borders, meet and pray for some combat soldiers, and we hope to be able to pray inside the government building (Knesset). On Shabbat we plan to take the tour group to the Carmel Assembly worship service. For those who are in need of a physical healing, one of the Biblical sites we will be visiting, is the Pool of Siloam. Plus more, and we can promise you that your spiritual life will be changed and you will return home with much more than you came with. If you want further details about the tour please write to Josie at email@example.com
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ….. David & Josie

1. Ten Thousand Protest at Gaza Border on Friday Times of Israel News Jan 6th
Some 10,000 Gazans took part in violent protests along the Gaza border on Friday, burning tires and hurling rocks and explosive devices at IDF soldiers. The army said it foiled two attempts to breach the border fence and was responding to the demonstrators with tear gas and live fire in accordance with rules of engagement. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said 15 protesters were injured by live fire in clashes with Israeli security forces along the border. It also said five medics were hurt, all hit by gas canisters. The ministry ?condemns the Israeli occupation forces? violations against medical personnel,? it said. The report found that IDF troops likely fired into a group of protesters and medical personnel who posed no threat to them. Friday?s protests were held at various locations along the border under the banner of Hamas?s ongoing ?March of Return? demonstrations. Pray that these weekly protests come to an end
2. Air Force Strikes Hamas After Balloon Attack World Israel News Jan 6th
The Israel Air Force struck two Hamas positions in the eastern Gaza Strip on Sunday in response to an explosive device that was flown into southern Israel earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement. On Sunday morning, a bomb was flown into Israel using a large cluster of balloons and a drone-like glider device, landing in a carrot field in the Sedot Negev region of southern Israel shortly before noon. In retaliation for the cross-border attack from Gaza, Israeli military helicopters struck two Hamas positions east of the city of Khan Younis, according to the IDF.
Palestinian media reported that Israel also attacked targets near Jabalia, in northern Gaza, and in the Zeitoun area of Gaza City, in the center of the strip. The IDF refused to comment on the Palestinian reports. ?The IDF will continue to act in defense of the citizens of Israel and against terrorism from the strip,? the army said. There was no clear charge that Hamas had launched the balloons into Israel, but the longstanding Israeli policy is that because Hamas rules in the coastal enclave, it bears ultimate responsibility for any such attack.

Honduras will be moving ahead with plans to open its Israel embassy in Jerusalem, and Israel is in talks to open its Honduran embassy in Tegucigalpa, following a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Honduran President Hernandez, and U.S. Secretary Pompeo on Tuesday. According to reports, Israel will upgrade its Honduran consulate to a full-fledged embassy and provide Honduras help on cyber security, water and agriculture technology and law enforcement assistance. Israel will also open its market to Honduran coffee imports. Israel and Honduras ?agreed to pursue a plan of action, which includes meetings in their three respective capitals, to advance the process of the decision to open embassies in both Tegucigalpa and Jerusalem,? according to a joint statement from the three countries released by the U.S. State Department. Pray that the Honduran government will move their embassy back to Jerusalem very soon
4. Brasil Governor Requests Shofar Blast at Ceremony World Israel News Jan 3rd
Wilson Witzel, the new governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, wanted a shofar (ram?s horn used for Jewish ritual) blown at his Wednesday inauguration, and a rabbi happily agreed to the unusual request. The shofar ?represents the call for freedom, to bring good vibes and positive energies to the new government,? according to organizers of the swearing-in ceremony. The trumpet-like sounds helped him during a campaign stop, he said, according to the report. ?One of the most touching moments during my campaign was when I heard the shofar blast at the Beit Lubavitch synagogue. It gave me the strength I needed to carry on,? Witzel told reporters. Rio, which has a 30,000-strong Jewish community, mostly in Copacabana, is where Prime Minister Netanyahu headed with his wife Sarah when he first arrived in the country a few days before the parallel inauguration of Witzel?s mentor, President Jair Bolsonaro. PM Netanyahu went to Brazil to honor President Bolsonaro, who, as an evangelical Christian, is warmly disposed towards Israel and the Jewish people. It was the first-ever visit of an Israeli prime minister to the South American country. Lets pray protection over the new President of Brasil as he prepares to move his nation’s embassy back to Jerusalem
4. Iran Planning to Attack Israel Arutz 7 News Jan 6th
Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad Nakhalah last week confirmed that Iran has a plan to start a multiple-front-war against Israel. While in Tehran, where he met with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Rouhani. Nakhalah told Al-Alam TV that the next confrontation with Israel would see fronts in the north and the south of the country. In the next confrontation with Israel, the axis of resistance will operate from the north to the south, Nakhalah said adding that ?there will be open channels of collaboration, without any limitation or red lines. Each Israeli attack will be answered with a reaction from the entire axis of resistance.” The Jihad leader also hinted the ?resistance front? still has attack tunnels which would be used in the next war against Israel and would lead to the ?defeat of the Zionist project? and its disappearance. Nakhalah?s visit to Iran came after he went to Lebanon to meet with Hezbollah leader Nasralah, another indication the so-called resistance front is preparing for war against Israel.
The Iranian Supreme Leader stepped up his belligerent rhetoric against Israel after President Trump cancelled US participation in the international nuclear deal with Iran. His message in all his Tweets over the past 8 months was that Israel will disappear. By upping up the pressure on Israel, the Khamenei regime appears to be attempting to divert attention from the multiple problems in Iranian society. Demonstrations against the Islamist regime continue with farmers and retirees taking to the streets in Tehran and Mashhad, Iran?s second largest city. Iran has witnessed increasing popular unrest and large demonstrations against the regime for a year now with truck drivers and entrepreneurs at Tehran?s largest market taking the lead. Influential Iranians are now saying that there is a real possibility the present political system in Iran will collapse. Influential Shiite cleric Mohammad Yazdi this week admitted that the Iranian people are abandoning Islamic teachings and are becoming more secular. Pray that any harm that Iran intends for Israel will fall back onto Iran
5. Muslim Israeli-Arab to Run With PM Netanyahu in April Eections
PM Netanyahu’s Likud party introduced its first Muslim Arab-Israeli candidate, providing a strong reminder that Israel is a diverse, inclusive, and democratic society. Dima Tayeh is running for a seat in the Knesset as a member of PM Netanyahu?s Likud party. As a Muslim Arab-Israeli, she would like to serve in the legislature to help fight crime in her community and work for a better future for all Israelis, regardless of their religion. According to Tayeh, the existing Arab parties in the Knesset ignore their own communities, using the Israeli parliament as a soapbox to push their own agendas. She has high hopes for her political future and looks forward to working with the prime minister. Pray that more Israeli Arabs become supportive of PM Netanyahu ahead of the April election.
6. Hamas Threatening to Increase Gaza Violence World Israel News Jan 9th
Hamas is warning that Israel about renewed violence. An Egyptian security delegation is expected to arrive in Gaza in the coming days in an attempt to prevent a deterioration in the security situation along the border with Israel this weekend. Earlier this week, the ?Supreme National Authority for the March of Return and Breaking of the Siege,? the body officially behind the weekly border protests, which the Hamas terror group has been encouraging since last March, called on the Palestinian public to participate extensively in marches near the fence this coming Friday. Israel and Hamas recently agreed to a short-term, limited and unofficial ceasefire under the terms of which Hamas would scale back its attacks on Israel in return for Israeli permission for the entry of millions of dollars in cash from Qatar to pay for gas and electricity supplies to Gaza. Israel has already allowed for two such transfers, but halted the third payment which was to have been made this week. It was a punitive step taken by Israel in response to Gazan cross-border attacks, the latest including a rocket fired into Israel and the dispatch of a booby-trapped cluster of balloons from the Gazan side.
There had been relative calm at the Friday border protests over recent months, but during the past two weeks there has been an increase in the number of demonstrations close to the fence, and last weekend also saw a rise in the number of violent incidents there. Last Friday, some 10,000 Gazans rioted on the border. The IDF said that its forces responded with crowd dispersal measures as well as live ammunition when deemed necessary. Gazan sources reported that six rioters were wounded. Sources in Gaza report that Hamas is planning to renew the balloon attacks. The fires started by these means of protests have created economic hardships on the Israeli side of the border by severely damaging or even destroying Israeli farms and caused environmental damage. Israeli officials have complained about the lack of an outcry from international environmental groups over this phenomenon. Pray that Hamas will back down from these threats, removing the need for Israel to bomb Gaza again.
