David’s Comment: Purim 2018 – For Such a Time as This – Nothing Has Changed
Esther 4:14 “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (NKJ)
Next Wednesday evenimg Jewish people in Israel and around the world are once celebrate the Festival of Purim – the remembrance of the story of how Esther saved her people from destruction at the hands of the demonically inspired Haman. Haman was just one in a line of many demonically inspired men who attempted to destroy the Jewish people as Satan attempted to prevent Bible prophecy being fulfilled. Ever since Israel became a nation almost 4000 years ago, Satan has tried to destroy it. The account of history is a succession of demonically inspired, wicked men who Satan used to try to destroy Israel. The list includes the Pharaoh in Egypt, Haman in Persia, Antiochus Epiphanes, Herod Titus and Hitler. Praise YAH, they all failed and Purim is still being celebrated by the Jewish people, and since1948, we have own country back to celebrate Purim in.
There is nothing new under the sun and nothing really changes in the spiritual realm and Israel is still under attack by those who serve the purposes of Satan today. I try not to be unduly pessimistic, but as I wrote last week, as this Purim approaches the scene looks set for a major escalation in the situation here. The peace process is as good as dead and we need to pray that it stays that way. The PA leadership is warning that the situation will become worse following the US decision to return its embassy to Jerusalem, and because the ficticious “Palestinian” people have lost all hope in having a state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Sadly the world is naturally anti-Semitic. That should not surprise or shock us as the Bible tells us that Satan is currently the god of this age (2 Cor 4:4) and the whole world lies under his influence (1 Jn 5:19) Satan hates Israel and the Jewish people because he knows the prophecies, so it follows those who are knowingly or unknowingly under his influence have the same hatred. The Jewish people know that the world, at the very best, doesn’t like us, and at the worst hates and despises us.
The reason for the intense hatred of the Jews is not because of who we are, but because of Who our very existence as a people, testifies to. It is reported that the last Russian Czar asked one of his advisors to prove the existence of GOD. The man answered in two words – THE JEWS ! The Jewish people and the nation of Israel are a ‘banner ‘ (Isa 11:12) to the world that GOD is who the Bible says He is, and Satan hates us for it. Over the last few decades the Devil has been very successful in returning almost all of the once Christian nations, back to be Pagan nations once again. Now the world also hates on-fire Born-Again Christians, because they also testify of the same God – the GOD of Israel. Soon most of the world, under the influence of the evil one, will vent its demonically inspired wrath in a way never seen before against Israel, the Jewish people and the Body of Messiah.
This is not a time to be fearful. This is a time to work with the LORD as He brings this present evil age to its climax. Josie and I believe that like Esther, we have all come to the kingdom “for such a time as this”. Those who regularly receive our updates will have heard me say that before, but I truly believe it is true and will continue to say so. I sense a call to continually remind and inspire the people of GOD to be about the Father’s business, especially the business of restoration and protection of Israel and the Jewish people as the Father prepares to supernaturally reveal His Son, Yeshua the Messiah, to Israel (Zechariah 12:10), in preparation for the restoration of His Kingdom on the Earth in Jerusalem.
I want to repeat the challenge to the Ruths, the Elijahs and particularly at this time of Purim, the Esthers to fulfill the purpose and the destiny for which you have come to the kingdom at this time. The world is closing in on Israel and for that matter, on the true Church. Now is very definately the time to be like Esther, to allow the Spirit of The LORD of Hosts who resides within you, to rise up within you and empower you to go before the ‘kings’ and plead on Israel’s behalf. There needs to be heard many prophetic voices speaking for GOD on Israel’s behalf. It is actually a lot easier for us than it was for Esther. She had to go before a real king at the risk of her life. We all know those famous words she spoke “I will go before the king, and if I perish, I perish” (Esther 5:16)
Now is not the time to remain silent ! God forbid that we would be amongst those of whom it was said, “for if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish”. (Esther 4:14) Lets pray and intercede spiritually , and lets intercede in the natural whenever there is an opportunity to speak up. If Josie and I can assist you in any way with information or resources, please do not hesitate to email us.

The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom …… David & Josie

Massive Israeli air strikes hit Hamas military targets Saturday night after a powerful blast from Gaza injured five Israeli soldiers. A building in Shear Hanegev took a direct hit from a rocket, after sirens and explosion warned this and other Israeli locations within range of the Gaza Strip of incoming rocket fire. No one on the Israeli sies was was hurt, but 2 Gazans were killed by IDF tank fire, Gaza medical sources said The incident began when a powerful explosive device was detonated from its hiding place inside Gaza. It turned out to have been planted near the border under cover of Friday?s regular anti-Israel demonstration at the fence. Among those wounded were a Combat Engineering office, who was one of the two seriously hurt and a Golani company commander, who got off with light injuries. Israel?s first response was to open tank fire on a Palestinian Islamic Jihad observation post in the southern part of the Strip. Later that night, the Israeli Air Force went into action and pounded the armed facilities of Hamas and other terrorist groups across the Gaza Strip. The IDF reported hitting six Hamas targets, including a terror tunnel under construction from the Zeitun refugee camp in central Gaza up to the Israeli border, as well as military outposts and compounds in the north and in Khan Younes in the south. Different terrorist groups retaliated with rocket fire against Israeli locations. Pray that the IDF is able to keep the situation at the Gaza border under control.
2. PM Netanyahu Show Piece of Iranian Drone Times of Israel News Feb 18th
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday presented what he believed was a clear-cut indictment against Iran?s mounting regional belligerence when he displayed a piece of the wreckage of the Iraniandrone that was shot down in Israel earlier this month. ?Iran denies that it committed an act of aggression against Israel last week, that it sent drone into our airspace to threaten our people,? PM Netanyahu stated during his speech at the Munich Security Conference. ?Well, here?s a piece of that Iranian drone, or what?s left of it after we shot it down. I brought it here so you could see for yourself,? he said, holding up the piece. Addressing Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Netanyahu said: ?Mr. Zarif, do you recognize this? You should. It?s yours. You can take back with you a message to the tyrants of Tehran: Do not test Israel?s resolve.? Pray that the rest of the world wakes up to Iran’s intentions to harm Israel & other nations in the Middle East
3. British Politicians Astounded by Gaza Tunnel Network Tims of Israel News Feb 18th
British parliamentarians touring Israel as part of a trip organized by Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) said they were ?shocked by the sophistication? of tunnels dug by terrorists in the Gaza Strip extending into Israeli territory. The officials saw firsthand the network of underground routes near Kibbutz Ein HaShlosha. During their visit, delegates received a strategic briefing from the IDF inside the tunnel, which leads into an agricultural field in an Israeli kibbutz. In the last three months, the IDF has uncovered and destroyed 3 tunnels from Gaza, constructed by Hamas terrorists in order to carry out terror incursions into Israel. ?We were shocked by the sophisticated tunnel we saw leading into Israel,? said CFI chair Stephen Crabb. ?The fact that Hamas terrorists were just metres from an Israeli community is deeply worrying, and exemplifies the threats Israel faces on a daily basis,? he added. ?We in the UK can learn a great deal from Israel in the fight against terrorism, and we must do more to prevent international aid from being misappropriated in Gaza for these despicable activities” he said. Pray that every tunnel on the Gaza and northern borders will be likewise found and destroyed
4. PM Netanyahu in Serious Political Trouble Israel Today News
PM Netanyahu’s legal woes amplified on Wednesday after a powerful close confidant turned state’s witness in the escalating corruption investigations. The Israel Police had already recommended Netanyahu’s indictment in the two investigations which accuse the prime minister of accepting bribes in return for political favors, and of making an underhanded deal for more favorable media coverage. Earlier this week, Police officials surprised the nation by unveiling Case 4000, in which Netanyahu is suspected, among other things, of doing political favors for Israel’s telecommunications company in exchange for favorable coverage on the popular Walla! online news portal, which is owned by Bezeq’s controlling shareholder. The situation for Netanyahu turned grim overnight when Communications Ministry director-general Shlomo Filber turned state’s witness in the case. Filber was reportedly Netanyahu’s deal-making man in the Bezeq scandal, and his testimony could land the prime minister in jail. That being the case, Israel’s opposition on Wednesday started ramping up for early elections. “The events of the last two days and recent hours make very clear: The Netanyahu era is over,” wrote Zionist Union (Labor) party chief Avi Gabbay. “We must prepare for an election soon.” However, the most recent public opinion polls still show that the left wouldn’t necessarily benefit from new elections at this time. A survey revealed that if elections were held today, Likud would remain the largest party in the Knesset, followed by the centrist Yesh Atid, with Labor coming in third with just over half the seats of Likud. The mix of smaller parties would remain more or less as it is today, meaning it would still be easier to forge a right-wing coalition than a left-wing one. Please pray that GOD’s will be done concerning who is the PM of Israel
5. Israeli Public in Favour of PM Netanyahu United With Israel News Feb 16th
Just as President Donald Trump overcame the media and left-wing establishment to win the election despite his bluster and personal baggage so, too is PM Netanyahu defying the odds in Israel. Despite recommendations by the Israeli police to indict the premier for bribery and breach of trust, his poll numbers are rising. According to poll results released on Wednesday, Netanyahu?s Likud Party would gain one Knesset seat and rise to 26 from 25 in the last poll. The closest competitor from 24 to 22. The director of communications and international relations for Israel?s ruling Likud Party, said in an interview on Wednesday that the charges against Netanyahu are ?absurd? and ?I am sure they will end up with nothing.? ?There have been 15 previous accusations made against PM Netanyahu,? but they have all come to nothing, added Hazan. Asked if he sees parties in the government coalition or top members in Likud abandoning the prime minister, Hazan dismissed such hypotheticals , saying ?nothing will change.? ?I was a member of Likud in 1999 when Netanyahu was an unpopular prime minister, but today he is very popular,? he said. When asked if the comparisons between Trump and Netanyahu are apt, considering the constant attacks in the media and from the left-wing establishment in both countries, Hazan pointed out that ?it is not only the media; the left is trying to beat Bibi in another way since they can?t beat him in elections.? In a visible sign of Netanyahu?s popularity, a video from Israel?s Kan public broadcasting company shows the prime minister receiving strong support from passers-by as a reporter winds her way through the outdoor market in Jerusalem, asking them what they thought. She seemed surprised by all the positive comments from the public. Please pray that the truth will be revealed concerning the accusations against PM Netanyahu
6. Canadian Oppostion Party In Favour of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital World Israel News Feb 16th
At a recent conference in Ottawa, the Canadian capital, two major Conservative Party officials waded into the issue that has damaged ‘Palestinian’ relations with the US: President Trump?s recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and his decision to move the American embassy there, The Canadian Jewish News (CJN) reported. ?I can?t even understand why this is a debate,? said Alberta United Conservative Party Leader Jason Kenney, according to the CJN. ?Not only is Jerusalem obviously and objectively the capital of the State of Israel since its creation, but it is the ancient capital of the Jewish people.? The current Canadian government is led by Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau. On the issue of the embassy move, Ottawa?s reaction was quietly non-supportive, although in early December, Canada along with the Marshall Islands, Micronesia and Nauru, joined the US and Israel in voting against the UN General Assembly resolution to disavow Israel?s ties to Jerusalem. But then Ottawa abstained on the UN condemnation of Trump?s move later that month. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer told the CJN that he?s proud to lead a party that has always stood with Israel and recognized it as one of Canada?s strongest allies. Former PM Harper had been a staunch ally of the Jewish state. In January 2014, he addressed the Knesset, saying, ?through fire and water, Canada will stand with you.? Scheer said that he would ?absolutely want to work with the government of Israel on the best way to move forward? on the embassy move. ?In the meantime, there are steps that we can take. Many of our allies have a consular presence in Jerusalem. Canada does not. That is something we can progress as we move forward.?
