David’s Comment: Facing the ‘Fire’ – Victory Against the Odds

Daniel 3:16 …. Our God who we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace

1 Corinthians 15:57  But thanks be to GOD who gives us the victory in Messiah Yeshua

As the news reports that I have been sending our in recent weeks indicate, we here in Israel are facing the serious threat of a major war with the Iranian Islamic regime. That is not a pleasant scenario to have to consider, as Iran has a huge arsenal of modern weapons. It is not a new thing for little Israel to be vastly outnumbered (in every way). From the time that David the young shepherd boy, slew the Philistine giant Goliath, every time Israel has faced the threat of destruction, against the odds, the people of GOD have been victorious. I believe this principle applies to we who are Born-Again and grafted into Israel (Rom 11:17) as much as it applies to the natural nation of Israel.

I read Daniel chapter 3 last week while I was in Korea. Over the last few weeks I had been feeling anxious about the future, and this chapter greatly encouraged me, so I want to encourage you, especially if you have been facing difficulties in your life. I am sure you will agree with me that the account of the LORD opening up the Red Sea to allow the Israelites to escape from Egypt and begin their epic journey to the promised land is one of the greatest miracles of all time. Even the fact that GOD supplied all they needed to survive 40 years in the desert is a great miracle, and the fact that their clothes and sandals did not wear our is also a supernatural miracle that many people don’t often think about. The story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego is right up there with the Exodus miracles. King Nebuchadnezzar had issued a decree that anyone who would not bow down to worship him be executed. Some of the King’s officials reported back to him that the 3 Hebrews refused to bow to his image, and the furious King ordered them to be bound and thrown into the furnace, which he commanded to be heated up 7 times more than usual. It seemed the 3 Hebrew men were doomed to die in the fire, but the GOD of Israel honored their faithfulness, and one of the most incredible deliverances of all time took place.

Two amazing things happened as this miracle unfolded – the heat of the fire in the furnace was so intense that the men who cast them into the furnace were killed by the heat, and the story ends with the 3 Hebrews, not only surviving the fire unharmed, but their clothing did not even smell of smoke. For most people the above story is impossible, but we serve the same GOD as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and the Bible clearly tells us that nothing is impossible with the GOD of Israel. The key to the whole incident is that when Nebuchadnezzar looked into the fire, he saw a 4th person in the fire, and he looked like a ‘Son of God.’ It is obvious from the text that Yeshua was there in the fire with the faithful Hebrew men.

As I read the chapter, my level of faith and trust in YHVH, began to rise up and I sensed the need to repent and ask the LORD to forgive me for allowing doubt and unbelief to replace my usual trust in the LORD, the Creator of the Universe. My mind still tries to revert to doubting, but I begin to pray or worship GOD and my spirit man takes over and faith is restored. I am not saying it is easy, but if you are facing natural or spiritual ‘fire’, please be encouraged. I suggest you read Daniel chapter 3 and allow it to minister into your soul and spirit. And then continue to declare out aloud the verse from 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to GOD who gives us the victory in Messiah Yeshua, until you have secured the victory.

The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel.  Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD.  Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.

1. IDF Chief Warns Israelis to Prepare for War   Israel News Report

The annual intelligence assessment for 2019 was presented to the IDF General Staff on Wednesday, less than a month after Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi [pictured assumed his position as IDF Chief of Staff. The assessment stated;  “The situation on the Gaza border was considered the most pressing security issue facing Israel after Iran … the potential for an offensive initiative by Hamas and Islamic Jihad is very high and may occur even before the Knesset elections in April.”  “Hamas faces significant challenges and wants to lift the siege on Gaza. The terror group is therefore willing to take actions that will force Israel to exhaust all possibilities, and may consider election time a good time to do this.” In reading the IDF estimate that Israel is facing severe threats from both the North and the South, we can only shudder as we remember the warning given by PM Netanyahu several weeks ago that Israel could not handle strong threats from North and South simultaneously ! Plray that Israel is prepared to quickly terminate any direct attack from Israel

2. PM Netanyahu Working Hard to Warm Ties with Arab Nations  World Israel News   Feb 14th

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence is hailing the dawning of ?a new era? in the Middle East. He was delivering opening remarks Wednesday night at a conference taking place in Warsaw. The event is entitled: ?Peace and Security in the Middle East.? The U.S. and Poland are co-sponsoring the conference, which they say is aimed at promoting harmony in the Mideast, using the common concern of participating countries of the threat posed by Iran. The Iranian issue has resulted in the forging of a new alliance in the Middle East, especially a more open relationship between Israel and Gulf states. The conference is bringing a number of these countries together in public. In all, the leaders of some 60 countries are said to be at the conference, including Prime Minister Netanyahu and high-profile dignitaries from Arab states. ?Tonight, I believe we are beginning a new era,? Pence said. ?The prime minister of Israel, the leaders of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE all breaking bread together, and later in this conference sharing honest perspectives on the challenges facing the region.  Earlier, the Israeli prime minister spoke of the historic nature of the conference in allowing him to hold an ?open meeting with representatives of leading Arab countries,? adding that ?what we are doing is removing Iran from Syria. We are committed to doing this and will continue to do so,? said PM Netanyahu. Pray that more Arab nations will want to have trade and diplomatic ties with Israel

3. U.N. Prepares to Unleash Against Israel After US Amabassador Haley Leaves    World Israel News   Feb 14th

Amid reports that the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights is set to publish a blacklist of Israeli companies operating in territories captured by the Jewish State in the 1967 war, there is concern that the anti-Israel atmosphere at the United Nations could get even worse following the departure of Nikki Haley as the U.S. ambassador to the world body. Haley stepped down on December 31st. ?The U.N. is on Israel?s case more than ever before. I think the departure of Haley plays a role,? says Jenny Aharon, director of the Golden Gate public affairs group, and an adviser at the European Union (E.U.). ?Also at the U.N. Human Rights Council, they are set to condemn Israel more than ever before,? she siad. In June, the United States announced that it was withdrawing from the Human Rights Council over what it called chronic bias against Israel and a lack of reform. At the time, Ambassador Haley charged that the ?disproportionate focus and unending hostility toward Israel is clear proof that the council is motivated by political bias, not by human rights.?  Israel?s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the U.S. decision to pull out of the council.  Pray that the UN changes its biased attitude against Israel before the LORD deals with the organisation.

4. U.S. Vice President Demands that E.U. Withdraw from Iran Nuclear Deal     World Israel News   Feb 14th

US Vice President Pence has demanded that European Union allies follow Washington?s lead in withdrawing from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and cease efforts which are designed to evade US sanctions. Speaking at a Middle East conference in Poland, Pence accused Iran of being the world?s largest state sponsor of terrorism, adding that it was the ?greatest threat to peace and security in the Middle East,? and accused the clerical regime of plotting a ?new Holocaust? with its regional ambitions. He lamented that Britain, France and Germany created a special financial mechanism that Washington believes is aimed at ?breaking? tough US sanctions on Iran. Those sanctions were eased by former US president Barack Obama?s administration under the terms of the nuclear deal but were reimposed after US President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement last year. Pence said the EU had ?led the effort to create mechanisms to break up our sanctions? against Iran?s murderous revolutionary regime.? ?It is an ill-advised step that will only strengthen Iran, weaken the EU and create still more distance between Europe and the United States,? he added, according to a transcript by the Reuters news agency. US and European divisions over Iran led France and Germany to opt against sending their top diplomats to the Warsaw conference. Pray that the EU nations will agree with the US position on Iran and pray that more European nations will exit the ‘Babel’ EU federation.

4. Opponents Join Force to Defeat PM Netanayahu   Israel Today News   Feb 21st

A dramatic political development late Wednesday night might have Prime Minister Netanyahu concerned regarding his chances of winning Israel’s upcoming national election. Just prior to the Thursday evening deadline for registering new parties and mergers ahead of the election, the main two centrist parties, Yesh Atid and Israel Resilience, reached an agreement to run on a joint list. The leaders of the two parties, Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz, agreed to share the premiership should their joint list be tasked with forming the next government. According to the deal, Gantz would be prime minister for two years, and then hand over the reins to Lapid for the final two years of their term. And, according to the most recent polls, the Lapid-Gantz alliance has a very real shot of unseating Netanyahu. Pray that the LORD will ensure that His choice to lead Israel at the strategic time, is the next PM of Israel

5. Sea of Galilee More Than 4 Feet Higher   Jerusalem Post   Feb 15th

The water level of Lake Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) has risen more than four feet since the rainy season began in late October 2018. According to the Water Authority, the Kinneret has been steadily rising, increasing by some four inches since Thursday 14 February. Despite current rainfall and the lake?s increased water levels, the Kinneret is still more than 16 feet below the mark that is considered full. Water levels are expected to rise as the winter progresses.   Praise GOD for His answer to many prayers for an abundant rainy season this year and please continue to pray for an exceptional increase in Israel?s natural water sources as the wet season continues. ?

6. Jerusalem Not Negotiable    INN News  Feb 16th

Palestinian Authority (PA) excecutive Rami Hamdallah emphasized that Jerusalem, and all of its neighborhoods, suburbs, and nearby Bedouin encampments, is not for sale and is not negotiable. Speaking in the Bedouin encampment of Bir Nabala, Hamdallah said that the PA’s activities will continue regardless of the challenges. This, he said, is part of the responsibility of the PA Arabs and their justification for existence. According to Hamdallah, Jerusalem will always be an inseparable part of “Palestine.” He also said that the PA Arabs proved to the world that despite Israel’s financial and political “siege” and its “attacks,” the building and development in the area are the PA’s way of fighting, growing, and continued existence. Thanks to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ leadership and diplomatic activities, he said, the PA Arabs have managed to overcome the “plotting” against them. Pray that PA will become irrelevant and eventually disappear.

7. BDS Activist Has Israeli Based Website    Israel Today News   Feb 19th

The Israel Advocacy Movement has uncovered a juicy and hilarious bit of information that once again exposes both the foolishness and failure of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. Rashida Tlaib was among a handful of radical Democratic candidates to suddenly find herself in the spotlight after winning a seat in the US House of Representatives. Tlaib is most known not for what she plans to do for her constituents in Michigan, but rather for her overtly hostile positions towards Israel. You see, Tlaib is an America of “Palestinian” Arab descent, and she absolutely hates the Jewish state. She’s on record as saying the US should cut military aid to Israel. She’s also a big supporter of BDS, a campaign that tries to economically choke Israel out of existence. So, we couldn’t help but burst into laughter after finding out that Tlaib’s campaign website was built on the Wix platform.  Wix is not only one of the Internet’s top platforms for ready-made websites, it’s also one of Israel’s most successful Internet start-ups, headquartered in Tel Aviv. No doubt Tlaib will immediately move her website to a different platform provider after realizing her grave mistake. But, until then, enjoy a little humor in your day, courtesy of Israel’s most venomous of detractors. Pray that this woman has a revelation that Israel is a blessing
