David’s Comment: The Holocaust – Some Remember but Many Have Forgotten on Never Heard
Last Sunday, January 27th, was International Holocaust Memorial Day in many nations of the world. Rightly so, international Jewish organisations partner with local organisations to ensure that the world does not forget the annihilation of 6 million Jewish children and adults, in the hope that such an act of genocide never happens again. It is now 7 decades since the Nazi regime was defeated and the absolute horrors of the Holocaust were revealed to the outside world. Thankfully there are still enough caring people in the world today, who do remember what happened and do their best to keep the memory alive, but they are generally from the older generations and therefore their numbers drop off every year. As the years go by, and the younger generations move up in our societies, the numbers of people who claim that they never heard of the Holocaust, or do not believe it happened, is growing. There is no doubt that levels of anti-Semitism are once again rising dramatically in many nations. Jewish people in the USA, UK and many parts of Europe are saying that they are very concerned for their safety as physical attacks against Jew increase in numbers and intensity, and that they do not feel safe any longer.
The situation in France is particularly bad with a number of fatal attacks by Muslims over the last 3 years. Jewish people have also been violently attacked by Muslims in Germany and England. The simple truth is that in the long term, Jewish people will not be safe anywhere in the world except Israel. We are not guaranteed to be safe in Israel either because of the intense hatred and jealousy of our Muslim neighbours, but at least in Israel we have security guards and the army to defend us. There are two main sources that fuel the current rise of anti-Semitism around the world. In the non-Muslim it is 1900 years of Replacement Theology that fuels the hatred of the Jews. Even the way the Easter story is told, is like throwing gasoline onto the fire of resentment towards the Jewish people. Whether they are believers or not, most people in the Western world have grown up to hear about the birth of ‘Baby Jesus’ at Christmas time, and 4 months later, at Easter, they hear how the “wicked Jews” killed Him. Think of the effect on children’s subconscious minds from hearing that accusation every formative year of their childhood. It plants the seeds of disdain against the Jewish people deep in their minds. The truth is that even if they did not even know it themselves, the Jewish leaders who were responsible for putting Yeshua on the cross, were actually preparing the Holy sacrifice of the Lamb of God. John the Baptist recognised that fact the first time he saw him coming and proclaimed Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). The truth of the matter is that it was the GOD ordained duty for the Jewish leaders to sacrifice the true Passover Lamb – The Father would not have accepted it any other way. And because of the false accusation of being “Christ killers” and seriously wrong theological teaching, Church history is rampant with anti-Semitism and violent persecution of Jewish people at the hands of people who considered themselves Christians.
The other main source that fuels anti-Semitism today is the unbalance reporting of the Arab / Israeli conflict. The biggest lie that had been spread around the world by the media since the end of the Six Day war in 1967, is that Israel is illegally occupying the land that the Bible tells us GOD gave to the Jewish descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in an everlasting covenant promise (Psalm 105:6-13 and Genesis 15:17-19) Because the world believes that Israel has no right to the land, then we have no right to defend ourselves against the armies and the terrorists who try to take the land back from the Jewish people. As the lies of the media have increased since 1967, hatred of Israel and anti-Semitism have increased, and continue to increase. The real root of the problem is not human, but demonic. In 1 John 5:19 we read that the whole world lies under the influence of the evil one. Satan is the one who has been behind the age old phenomenon of hatred against Israel and the Jewish people and he is still at work today, doing everything in his power to annihilate the Jewish people, in a desparate attempt to stop the return of Yeshua to set up the Father’s Kingdom on the Earth. And sadly, as the statistics of the current rise of anti-Semitism and violence against Jewish people, tells us that the problem did not end with the demise of the Nazis. I and others have been saying for several years now, that there in another Holocaust in the making. This time it is not just in one part of the world, but it is a worldwide problem. One of his most powerful tools is ignorance. Ignorance of what GOD says in the Bible. Ignorance of the truth behind the Islam / Israeli conflict. Ignorance of ancient history and ignorance of recent history. The more that this ignorance of the Holocaust and what caused it to happen, the greater the probabililty of another attempt to annihilate Israel and the Jewish people.
There are some thing we can do to prevent another Holocaust ……..
1/ to do our best to ensure that the previous one is not forgotten
2/ to sensitively warn every Jewish person we come into contact with to return to the only safe place for them in the world – Israel – before it is too late
3/ to be ambassadors of truth and correct people we know, who have a wrong understanding of the situation regarding the right of Israel to occupy the Promised Land 4/ most important thing we can do is actually the priority, to pray and intercede for the Jewish people to go home to Israel and to pray that every Christian in the world will have a Holy Spirit revelation of the LORD’s heart for the Jewish people and His expectation that the Church stands with Israel, as the world increasingly stands against Israel.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom ….. David & Josie
This Week’s News Items
1. Research Shows that Most Gaza Causalties were Terrorists United With Israel News Jan 25th
Extensive research into the identities of the Gazans killed during the ?March of Return? riots on the border with Israel in the past 42 weeks reveals that 150 of the 187 fatalities were affiliated with Hamas or other Palestinian terrorist organizations. The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terror Information Center (ITIC) published a paper on the identities of people killed during the Gaza border riots, showing that some 80 percent of the fatalities were terrorists, and prominent among them were Hamas members with 96 fatalities, about 51 percent. A total of 45 fatalities were operatives of Hamas? military wing, about 24 percent of the total number of fatalities and about 47 percent of the total of the Hamas fatalities. These findings are consistent with past statements by two Hamas senior figures in the Gaza Strip. Salah Bardawil stated in May 2018 that 50 out of the 63 ?martyrs? killed in an exceptionally violent day earlier that month, about 81 percent, were Hamas members. Similarly, Yahya Sinwar, chairman of Hamas? political bureau in the Gaza Strip, said that on May 14, over 60 Hamas operatives were killed. Pray that the secular media will publish accurate facts when reporting Gaza violence.
2. Hezbollah Still Has Plans to Invade Northern Israel Israel Today News Jan 27th
Over the past month, Israel made a great show of uncovering and neutralizing terrorist attack tunnels running from southern Lebanon into northern Israel. But the leader of the Iranian-allied Lebanese militia Hezbollah, which presumably dug the tunnels, boasted on Saturday that Israel’s much-touted “Operation Northern Shield” that was declared finished and successful last week did not eliminate even 10 percent of the terror group’s ability to invade the Galilee. And Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah admitted that invading the Galilee is precisely what Hezbollah intends to do in the next Israel-Lebanon war. “Part of our plan for the next war is to enter the Galilee… The important thing is that we have this capability and we have had it for years,” said Nasrallah. “The Israelis discovered a number of tunnels after many years, and it?s not a surprise. The surprise is that these tunnels, they took some time to find,” said Nasrallah. “One of the tunnels discovered in recent weeks is 13 or 14 years old. …The uncovering of the tunnels does not affect by 10 percent our plans to take over the Galilee.” Nasrallah added that Hezbollah has no intention of initiating a war, and will only respond to Israeli aggression. However, he also suggested that such a response could be the result of continuing Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah’s Iranian benefactors in neighboring Syria. Prime Minister Netanyahu has made abundantly clear of late that Israel will continue to hamper Iran’s efforts to establish a permanent military presence in Syria. Pray that the LORD will give Israel a fast and dramatic victory in the event of Hezbollah launching a war in the north.
3. Israel Goes to the Aid of Brasil Mining Disaster INN News Jan 28th
An Israeli aid delegation will take off shortly for Brazil to assist in the rescue effort following a dam collapse near the mining town of Brumadinho. Prime Minister Netanyahu had spoken with Brazilian President Bolsonaro on Saturday and offered to send aid, an offer Bolsonaro accepted. “I spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and he offered to help us in our search for those missing in the collapse of the dam,” tweeted Bolsonaro. “We would be happy to receive help and we thank Israeli technology for helping humanity.” At least nine people were killed with another 300 missing after a dam collapsed in Brazil on Friday. The disintegration of the dam covered the area with thick mud and buried hundreds of people. Relations between Israel and Brazil have warmed recently followed the election of Bolsonaro as the country’s president. Bolsonaro, who has been dubbed the ?Trump of Brazil?, announced after his election that he intended to uphold his campaign promise and move the Brazilian embassy to Jerusalem. Pray that the Israeli rescue team will be able to save the lives of many of the miners
4. Female Terrorist Killed During Stabbing Attack World Israel News Jan 30th
An Arab female terrorist attempted to stab Israeli security personnel at the A-Zaim checkpoint in Judea on Wednesday. The checkpoint is located at the southern entrance to Jerusalem. Security forces responded quickly, shooting and killing the terrorist. No Israelis were wounded in the attack. Jerusalem?s District Police Commander Yoram Halevi arrived at the scene of the attack and briefed the press on the details. The terrorist was a 16-year-old student from Ramallah, Halevi said. She took a cab to the checkpoint from that city. When she met the border guards at the checkpoint she drew her knife and attempted to stab them. In video footage, the attacker can be seen wearing a burka and walking toward the busy checkpoint. When she lunges at the border police, she is fired upon. Police are investigating her motives. Lets give thanks to the LORD that this attempted terror attack against Israeli soldiers was prevented
5. Israel Gas Reserves is Building Bridges to Arab World World Israel News Jan 25th
A decade after discovering natural gas fields off its Mediterranean coast, Israel is starting to feel the geopolitical boost. Its newfound riches have fostered economic bonds with its neighbors, tightening relations with Arab allies, and built new bridges in a historically hostile region ? even without significant progress being made toward peace with the Palestinians. Last week?s inclusion of Israel into the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum in Cairo ? a consortium aiming to cut infrastructure costs and lower prices ? marked the first time Arab countries accepted Israel into such a regional alliance, sparking excitement in the country that its long-held hope making ?economic peace? with Egypt and Jordan was fast approaching. ?I think this is the most significant economic cooperation between Egypt and Israel since the signing of the peace treaty 40 years ago,? the Israeli Energy Minister told Associated Press. ?The discovery of significant gas fields in the eastern Mediterranean has also political value because it brings all of us ? together to cooperate with each other.? Israel has been leveraging its newfound gas reserves into a powerful tool to expand its immersion into a region that has increasingly come to see Iran and Turkey, rather than Israel, as their greatest rivals. With the expected gas boon, Israel plans to wean itself off coal and emerge as an unlikely energy exporter ? providing both an economic and political lift. Israel will soon begin exporting gas to Egypt as part of a $15 billion deal signed last year to provide 64 billion cubic meters of gas over a 10-year period. The first batches will come from the operational Tamar field and later from the far larger Leviathan field, set to go online later this year. Israel already delivers gas to Gaza and to Jordan, with whom Israel?s Delek Drilling and its U.S. partner, Noble Energy, signed their first export agreement in 2016 ? a $10 billion, 15-year deal to provide 45 billion cubic meters of gas. ?This gives Israel an additional element to its relations with its neighboring countries,” said former Israeli ambassador to Jordan and to the European Union. Let’s give thanks to the LORD for placing these huge gas fields to boost Israel’s economy and to make new ties with the Arab nations
6. Irans Spends US $7 Billion on Terror World Israel News Jan 22nd
Israel Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon said Iran spends $7 billion on terror activities in a speech to the the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday. Danon talked about Iran?s ?coalition of terrorists and how it advances Iran?s expansionist ambitions.? In informal remarks to the media before his talk, Danon said, ?In Syria alone, [Iran] invests $4 billion dollars every year to help the Assad regime, and to establish a base of operations from which to strike at Israel, and to provide support to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Iran gives $1 billion in aid to its Shiite proxy. With this money, Hezbollah builds terror tunnels into Israel.? ?We just recently uncovered a sixth tunnel beneath our northern border,? Danon said, adding that Iran also supports Hamas and Islamic Jihad on Israel?s southern border with the Gaza Strip to the tune of $100 million a year. ?With this money Hamas digs attack tunnels into Israel, manufactures rockets, opens terror summer camps, and instigates violent riots along our border,? Danon said. Danon later told the Security Council that Iran ?is now trying to infiltrate Judea and Samaria. With the help of the Hamas? deputy political chief, and the head of the ‘Palestinian’ branch of the Iranian Quds Force, Iran is trying to turn Judea and Samaria into a fourth military front against Israel.? ?The world?s silence allows Iran to continue with its operations and aggression to undermine stability in the Middle East,? he said. Pray that the UN will wake up to Iran’s lies and deceptions
7. Israel Discovers Anti Cancer Desert Plant United With Israel News Jan 25th
Israeli scientists have seen encouraging results in their study of the anti-cancer properties of a desert plant that grows wild in the Jewish state. The plant is the ?fragrant star? or kochav reichani in Hebrew. It is a desert bush plant that grows throughout the south and east of Israel, in the Arava, Negev and Judean Deserts, and close to the Dead Sea and it is known for its medicinal properties, being long used to treat pain, digestive problems and birth complications. Following up on previous studies, scientists at the Arava branch of the Dead Sea and Arava Science Center used an extract of the plant to treat mice with lymphoma. After 24 to 48 hours, 50 percent of the cancer cell died, while healthy cells were left unharmed. Dr. Rivki Ophir, who headed the research team at the Yair Research Center, said that the processes observed were ?very similar to the processes that allow conventional chemotherapy to fight human cancer cells.? ?The results of the study are very encouraging,? she stated. ?Although this is a preliminary study that has not yet been tried in humans, and we do not yet know which types of cancers it can help, the potential is clear ? the fragrant star has medical value. If one of the pharmaceutical companies decides to invest in this unique plant, we may be able to bring good news to cancer patients. Pray that this discovery with lead to a solid cancer cure in the very near future.
