David’s Comment: Jerusalem – The Nations Are Dooming Themselves.
Zechariah 12:2 – 3 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And
in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all peoples. All who lift it shall be slashed, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.
I am sure that all of our readers and prayer partners are aware of the momentous decision taken by US President Trump to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city. In doing so President Trump showed enormous courage to follow US law and the will of the majority of the Senate and the American people, and he is the first US president to keep the election promise to move the US embassy
back to Jerusalem. As expected, 99% of the Arab world, the majority of world leaders, the secular news media, and even left wing Jews have condemned President Trump for taking this step.
Just in case some of our readers are not 100% sure that President Trump was absolutely right to officially recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, here are the undisputed facts ….
1/ Jerusalem has been the capital city of the Jewish people since the time of King David – more than 3000 years
2/ Jerusalem has never been the capital city of any other nation or people
3/ Since Israel was resurrected in 1948, the seat of government, the prime minister’s office, the presidents office and all government ministries have been located in Jerusalem
4/ Most countries embassies were located in Jerusalem until they bowed down to Arab pressure in 1980, and moved their embassies to Tel Aviv
5/ Refusing to accept Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, only serves to give false hope of victory to the Arabs and makes any chance of true, lasting peace impossible.
Perhaps the most relevant fact is that the Creator of the Universe and all that exists, repeatedly declares in His Word – the Bible, that He has chosen Jerusalem to be the capital city of Israel, and the capital of His Kingdom on the Earth. The Bible is also very clear that the Son of GOD will soon return to Jerusalem to rule the World seated on the Throne of David in the rebuilt Temple.
Violence has already broken out in and around Jerusalem and in a small number of other places in the Middle East. American and Jewish centres around the World are also in danger of being attacked by radical Muslim terror organisations. Hamas and Hebollah are publically calling for violence against Israel, and the peace process has almost no prospect of being revived. So was President Trump right to recognise Jerusalem now, and is the risk of chaos and violence worth it ? ABSOLUTELY YES !!! because it is imperative that Israel exists and that Jerusalem is the undivided capital for the plan of GOD to restore His Kingdom on the Earth, and for true peace to be established.
Any national leader, media person, individual or even any pastor who does not agree that Jerusalem is not Israel’s eternal capital, or is not happy about that fact, is in direct rebellion against the Almighty One, placing themselves in a position to be judged and punished in the most serious manner. The real reason why I have written this comment is that I have a serious concern for the future well-being of your nation. So far only the leaders of Czech Republic and the Philipines have announced that their nations will follow the lead of President Trump. All of the others, including your nation have rejected President Trump’s encouragment to follow and move their embassy back to Jerusalem and are rebuking Donald Trump for doing what is absolutely the right thin to do. This comment is a call to pray for your spiritual leaders who are placing your nation in great PERIL.
Here are some prayer guidelines for your urgent consideration and implimentation …….. (prayer points from Avner Boskey)
- Pray for the frustration of ungodly strategies and for God?s revelation to enlighten the eyes of these leaders with His heart for Jerusalem and the Jewish people
- Pray for God?s wisdom and leading, His protection and discernment for President Trump and his advisors and counsellors
- Pray for intercessors worldwide (and especially in the U.S.) to receive the divine burden for this moment
- Pray for Messiah?s body to receive strategies and empowerment in standing with the Jewish people as anti-Semitism and anti-Israel movements increase
- Pray for the frustrating of all hands raised to do violence and mayhem against Israel, the Jewish people and American interests
Pray that your government leaders are told about Zechariah 12:4 And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all peoples. All who lift it shall be cut to pieces
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom …… David & Josie

1. Jerusalem – an Unmoveable Rock Israel News Dec 10th
While the West continues to indulge in the most bizarre forms of political correctness, the Middle East is bracing itself for a possible Armageddon scenario involving nuclear weapons. The decision of President Trump to recognize Jerusalem as Israel?s capital as a probable first step towards moving the American Embassy there could well be a catalyst for a battle of the ages. But it?s nevertheless the right thing to do. For at some stage, difficult decisions have to be made and truth has to be acknowledged. Are we about to see the fulfillment of Zechariah?s prophecy that God would make Jerusalem ?a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling? and ?an immovable rock for all the nations? (Zechariah 12.2) Iran is actually trying to provoke such an end-of-world cataclysm by establishing military bases close to Israel?s Syrian border, according to an expert on Shiite religious dogma. Their leaders, he argues, are motivated by a desire to fulfill Shia prophecy of a showdown with the Jewish state that will prompt the coming of the ?Mahdi?, an Islamic messianic figure.
The idea of Jerusalem being significant for Muslims is described as ?nonsense? by Egyptian scholar and novelist Youssef Ziedan. ?The Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem did not exist back then (when the Koran was written), and the city was not called Al-Quds? he pointed out on television in 2015. As European leaders continue to betray Jews by defending so-called Palestinian rights, they are also turning a blind eye to the horrific plight of Christians in the Middle East while Arabs are killing each other and, in a bid to win Western support for their cause, Palestinian parties Fatah and Hamas put on a sham united front which is meaningless as the latter refuses to disarm. At the risk of over-simplifying the issue, it is not so much a case of Arab versus Jew as God v the devil. Pray that the Iran is isolated by all the other leading nations in the Middle East as well as the rest of the world
2. Jerusalem Protests Fizzle Out Israel Today News Dec 10th
The Palestinian leadership, both in Ramallah and Gaza, hoped to exploit US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital (which really wasn’t all that different from what his predecessors had done) to reinvigorate the violent uprising against the Jewish state. While there were scattered incidents of fairly serious violence, such as a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip striking an empty kindergarten, the “rage” that Palestinian leaders had called for quickly fizzled. On Friday, thousands of Palestinians gathered at flashpoints across the so-called “West Bank” and Gaza, hurling stones and firebombs and setting everything they could alight. By Saturday, no more than 600 rioters were turning out at these locations, and the numbers were expected to continue decreasing dramatically into the new week. Nine Palestinians and Israeli Arabs were reportedly arrested for their parts in different riots, and a small handful were treated for light injuries. Four Israeli police officers and two civilians were also lightly wounded. Palestinian media reported that at least one of the instigators of the riots along the Gaza security fence, during which at least one man crossed into Israeli territory, was shot and killed. Not quite the opening of the “gates of hell,” as Hamas vowed following Trump’s speech. Pray that the protests completely stop and life gets back to normal
3. Rules of the Peace Process Have Changed Israel Today News Dec 10th
“The Palestinians need to know: the rules of the game have changed. The ship changed direction. I recommend that they not test Israel’s patience with their terror threats.” That was the reaction of the Israeli Justice Minister to US President Trump’s declaration recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. For decades, the Middle East peace process has operated on the formula of pressuring Israel for concessions in hopes of moderating the Palestinians. The thinking was that if Israel would just offer enough, the Palestinians might honor their own commitments. On Wednesday, December 6, 2017, Trump officially declared that formula had failed. PA leader Mahmoud Abbas wasn’t entirely wrong in declaring that Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital had killed the peace process. The peace process as we’ve known it for the past 23 years did die last week. Or, at least, the way it’s been implemented thus far died. The rules of the game until this point have revolved around putting pressure on Israel to meet Arab demands. Those rules have produced nothing but more tension, division and conflict. The news rules, as Trump presented them, appear to revolve around all sides acknowledging historical truth and accepting present reality, and insisting that the Arabs do the same as a baseline for negotiations. Pray that the peace process based on giving up land for peace stays dead.
4. Israel Destroys Gaza Terror Tunnel World Israel News Dec 11th
The IDF demolished a Hamas Terror Tunnel on the Gaza border, the second such incident in weeks. An IDF spokesperson announced that the tunnel ran from Khan Younis several hundred feet into Israel?s Eshkol region. The tunnel could have been used to abduct soldiers or carry out a devastating terror attack within an Israel community. The discovery was made several weeks ago with the help of advanced technology, the IDF statement said. The tunnel has since been under IDF monitoring until its destruction on Sunday. The tunnel was ?a blatant breach of Israel?s sovereignty, an unacceptable situation which prompted the IDF?s actions,? the military said, and its exposure was ?an operational success based on advanced technology, a testimony to the IDF?s upgraded abilities.? ?The Hamas terror organization is the address and is responsible for anything that occurs in the Gaza Strip,? the military stressed. The IDF ?is prepared for all developments.? Hamas has built a sophisticated network of terror tunnels in the Gaza Strip and running into Israel, used for storing weapons, smuggling and terrorist infiltrations into Israel. During the 2014 summer war with Israel, Hamas terrorists on several occasions made their way into Israel through terror tunnels, although they did not manage to reach civilian areas. Israel destroyed 32 tunnels during that conflict, but Hamas has since been working vigorously to rebuild the tunnel network and the IDF has since made neutralizing the tunnel threat a top priority. The IDF has exposed and destroyed several tunnele since the 2014 conflict.and is building a new underground obstacle, meant to contend with Hamas? tunnel threat. Pray that every new tunnel will collapse before it is even completed and operational
5. IDF Responds to Gaza Rockets INN News Dec 12th
The IDF on Monday night attacked positions belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in northern Gaza. The attacks, which were carried out using tanks and aircraft, were in retaliation for rockets that were fired on Ashkelon earlier. “The IDF considers the Hamas terrorist organization solely responsible for what is happening in Gaza,” said an IDF statement. Rocket sirens were heard in the Ashkelon and Hof Ashkelon regions in southern Israel on Monday evening at around 11:30. Shortly thereafter, the Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted two rockets that fired from Gaza towards the area. No physical injuries or damages were reported. Earlier on Monday, Gazan terrorists fired a rockey into Israel which exploded near the Israel-Gaza border. There were no reports of physical injuries or damages. Following the rocket attack, the IDF attacked terrorist positions belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in southern Gaza. Last Friday, terrorists in Gaza fired 2 rockets at Israel. One of the rockets struck a kindergarten in Sderot. No injuries were reported as the kindergarten was closed at the time. Pray that all rockets fired at Israel will fail to hit their targets
6. Turkey’s Leader Threatens to Wipe Out the Jews World Net Daily Dec 10th
President Obama praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as ?a man of action? and one of the five world leaders with whom he had the strongest bond. And certainly Erdogan has tried to portray himself to Western leaders as a pragmatist with whom they can work. But at the convention of his ruling party, Erdogan invoked a Muslim hadith ? a collection of the accounts and sayings of Muhammad ? that made clear his view of Jews and the state of Israel, according to a dissident Turkish journalist. ?Those who think they own Jerusalem better know that tomorrow they won?t be
able to hide behind trees,? Erdogan said. That statement essentially is an affirmation of a prophecy that all Jews will one day be destroyed, the journalist said. He explained Erdogan was making ?a veiled threat of killing each and every Jew with a shocking reference to apocalyptic prophecy of tree story.? The Turkish leader was responding to President Trump?s decision last week to recognize Jerusalem as Israel?s capital and to begin the process of moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Pray that Ergodan change his wicked attitude towards the Israel or meet the same fate as Haman in the book of Esther.
7. Israel Plans to Deport 40,000 Illegal Immigrants Israel Today News Dec 12th
Israel’s Knesset on Monday overwhelmingly approved a bill empowering the government to bypass the Supreme Court and deport more than 40,000 illegal immigrants. The bill, approved by a 71-41 vote, will also close the illegal immigrant detention facility in the central town of Holon. Over the past decade, some 60,000 illegal immigrants have entered Israel, most of them via the southern border with Egypt. Most of the migrants come from northeastern African countries like Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia. While some are legitimate refugees, most are economic migrants. In 2012, Israel constructed an advanced border fence along its frontier with Egypt which drastically reduced the number of illegal immigrants entering the country. Simultaneously, the government tried to reduce the number of illegals in the country by offering them monetary incentives to return home. But many didn’t take the offer, and the Supreme Court blocked the government from forcibly deporting them. The court also ruled that the government could only detain the illegals for up to 12 months, meaning that those who could endure a full year of internment could then remain freely in Israel indefinitely. Pray that this morally legitimate deportation will be carried out as kindly and humanely as possible and that the illegals will not get violent.
