David Comment: Do Not be Deceived by Lies, Fables & Myths
2 Timothy 4:3 – 4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
Josie and I love to receive feedback and information from our friends and supporters in the nations. Most of the email messages we receive bless us and many contain valuable information that we are able to pass on in our reports. However, we also receive email messages from people who share information with us, that obviously they believe is true, but in reality are lies, fables and myths. There are 3 or 4 such myths that a lot of people believe, that we are sure are not true. The New Testament warns us that in the ‘Last Days’ even ‘the elect’ will be deceived, so for the sake of our readers who do not want to be deceived by lies, fables and myths, I am going to expose them in this week’s comment.
1/ The Ten Lost Tribes of Israel ….. is nothing more than a myth or fable that has been around for almost 1000 years , and is accepted as truth by many Christians, unbelievers, and even a large number of Jewish people, which is very strong evidence that confirm’s the Nazi propaganda minister’s theory that if you tell people a lie enough times, it ultimately becomes generally accepted as truth.
To the best of my knowledge the myth of the Ten Lost Tribes was initiated by Prester John, thought to be a 12th century leader in England, but who actually may be a mythical figure who did not really exist. Here are my reasons to back up the claim that the Lost Tribes story is not true …….
a) YHVH the Creator of the Universe, does not lose anyone. especially His ‘ chosen’ people !
b) The Bible proves it not to be true. Hebrew Scripture http://www.bh.org.il/5616-2/ and in the New Testament James writes to the 12 Tribes scattered abroad (James 1:1)
Today only the Levites can be identified, but we believe that there where ever there is a large population of Jewish people, all 12 tribes will be represented. The true situation is that there are no Lost Tribes, but due to assimilation and purposeful concealing of Jewish heritage, there are Jewish people lost from all 12 tribes. These people don’t know they are Jewish, but YHVH knows who they are.
The myth of the 10 Lost Tribes has spawned other myths like British Israel – the belief that the British people are one of the 10 Lost Tribes. Some of these people actually believe that Joseph of Aramathea took Yeshua to Britain when he was younger – totally ridiculous but they really believe it !
2/ The Ephramite / Two House Teaching .…. is also prevalent in much of the Western Church. This teaching claims that the 2 houses of Israel, Israel and Judah, are still separated and that most of the Christians in the nations are really from the 10 lost tribes. On a positive note, these people do love and support Israel, but on the negative side, the extreme supporters of this teaching claim that the people living in Israel today are not really Jews, but Khazar converts from Central Asia. These people have lots of scriptures to back up their claims, but most well grounded Messianic and Christian Bible scholars refute the teaching. For more evidence of this false teaching ……

3/ The Ark of the Covenant has Been Found .…. This lie has been circulating for many years. Some say it was taken to Egypt. Another claim is that the Ark is in a little chapel in Ethiopia and a priest dedicates his life to protecting it. The most popular story is that the Ark was found in a crevice directly underneath where Yeshua died on the cross. The story continues that the ground is cracked and the precious blood that poured out from the Lord’s wounded and bleeding body seeped through the cracks and fell upon the Mercy Seat of the Ark. Its a very convincing story as it fulfills the Biblical requirement for the blood of the sin sacrifice to fall upon the Mercy Seat for the atonement to be released. This story ends by saying that the Ark has indeed been located but its location is being kept secret. Those of us who live in Israel know very well that it is almost impossible to keep a secret in Israel. The story has been on the internet for a long time for all to read, but think about it, if the Religious Jewish authorities believed it, they would stop at nothing to get their hands on it. The discovery of the Ark of the Covenant is a wonderful and exciting story, but it is simply not true.
4/ The Temple was not Located on the Temple Mount …. This lie has been made popular by a recent book written by a Christian author who claims that the Temple was not located on the Temple Mount where the Dome of the Rock mosque sits, but was situated in another location on Mt Zion. This ‘good news’ means that the mosque does not need to be removed, and the Muslims do not need to start a war over it. Very nice thought – but not true. Again, we live in Israel and have been in the tunnel that runs under the present Western Wall where millions of Jewish people and Christian pilgrims pray. That wall is a surviving part of the perimeter wall that King Herod built around the 2nd Temple compound. Deeper down in the tunnel are much bigger foundation blocks. One of the blocks is a massive 15 plus meters or yards long and about 4 meters or yards high and is said to weigh 500 tons. We have seen it with our own eyes and touched it with our own hands, as have
hundreds of thousands of tourists who have done the Wilson’s Tunnel tour. There are even thick glass panels in the floor where you can see deeper excavations that reveal the foundation of the 1st Temple. So please do not try to tell me that the Temple was not located under the Dome of the Rock.
These lies, fables and myths only serve to deceive, distract and divide the Body of Messiah and to make the writers of these ficticious books a lot of money. Do not be one who gets deceived !
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom …… David & Jose

1. Demonstrations Take Place For & Against PM Netanyahu Times of Israel News Aug 13th
Some 3,000 people protested near the home of Attorney General on Saturday night, calling on him to bring indictments in a pair of corruption investigations against PM Benjamin Netanyahu. While demonstrations near Mandelblit?s home in Petah Tivka have been held every Saturday for half-a-year amid accusations Mandelblit is dragging his feet in the cases, Saturday?s protest was the second week in a row to see significantly larger crowds, coming after Netanyahu?s former chief of staff turned state?s witness amid several developments in the investigations. Anti-Netanyahu demonstrations were also held in a number of other cities, among them Jerusalem, Haifa, Beersheba and Ashdod and Modiin. The latest protests came days after a Likud rally in support of the prime minister garnered a similarly sized crowd. On Wednesday, facing some 3,000 Likud party activists, PM Netanyahu criticized the left-field of Israeli politics and media that he accused of conspiring against him. At the event held in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu accused the left and the media of using ever-widening corruption investigations against him and his family to try to oust him from power in what he called ?a coup against the government.? Pray that truth and justice will prevail and the LORD’s choice of PM for Israel will hold the office
2. Hamas Continues to Endanger Gaza Civilians World Israel News Aug 13th
The IDF on Thursday revealed that it has identified two residential buildings in the northern Gaza Strip as potential military targets after discovering Hamas terror tunnels underneath them. The army released satellite images of the homes, located near the Israeli border, on Thursday, a day after it struck Hamas targets in Gaza in response to a rocket strike on southern Israel. Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, head of Israel?s Southern Command, said the situation in Gaza is ?stable, but volatile.? He said the two buildings in the photos would be legitimate targets in the event of a future conflict and would draw Israeli forces into densely populated civilian areas. The military did not say how the tunnels had been identified. These examples are only two of numerous similar instances. One of the buildings identified was a six-story residential building constructed in the past two years, built after the IDF counter-terrorism Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014. Pray that all terror tunnels, rocket factories and missile launching sites will be discovered and destroyed.
3. Israel Building Underground Wall to Block Gaza Tunnels INN News Aug 13th
The army said this week that Israel will accelerate a project to build a giant underground wall around Gaza to block tunnels that could be used for attacks. Major General Eyal Zamir told journalists, “We hope that construction will be complete in two years.” Zamir said further that the military was concerned that the construction on the barrier could spark a conflict with Hamas. The terror group sees its tunnels as a central weapon in the fight against Israel and the Defense Ministry?s barrier presents a threat to them. ?We hope they don?t try to challenge us,? he said. Another military official added on Thurs. 10 August 2017 that the army does not believe Hamas has any justification – ?ethical, moral or military? – to prevent Israel from building a protective barrier. “It will therefore not tolerate any attempts by the terror group to interfere with its construction,” the official said. ?If it tries to, Israel will defend this barrier in every way possible. This barrier will be built. Period.? Pray Israel will do all that is necessary to insure the safety and peace of its citizens in highly vulnerable southern communities which have been targeted and times bombarded by Hamas projectiles.
4. Israel Warns Hezbollah & Lebanon World Israel News Aug 15th
Naftali Bennett, Israel?s education minister and member of the Security Cabinet, warned that the Hezbollah terror group could bring devastation to Lebanon. Speaking on Monday to IDF Radio following threats made by the leader of Hezbollah, Bennett said that any future attack by Hezbollah would be considered a ?declaration of war by the Lebanese state? as a whole. Israel will not operate ?surgically? in the next war with the Shiite terror group; rather, it will strike at any building used for Hezbollah?s activities, residential or otherwise, he clarified. ?Unlike the Second Lebanon War, this time we won?t differentiate between the organization and the State of Lebanon. This means any attack by Hezbollah will cause destruction throughout Lebanon and its institutions,? Bennett stated. He emphasized, however, that Israel is seeking to prevent another war with Hezbollah. ?Israel?s interest is to prevent another confrontation in Lebanon, and so our new strategy is simple: Lebanon equals Hezbollah, Hezbollah equals Lebanon,? he said. Nasrallah, speaking on the 11th anniversary of the Second Lebanon War, threatened that Israel would suffer ?great defeat and humiliation? in any future conflict. Pray that the leaders of Hezbollah & Lebanon take Israel’s warning seriously
5. PLO Asks Trump to Advance Peace Process Jerusalem Post Aug 15th
The PLO Executive Committee called on US President Donald Trump?s administration to endorse the two-state solution and ask Israel to halt settlement building, days after the White House announced a team of envoys including senior Trump adviser Jared Kushner will visit Israel and the Palestinian territories in the coming days. The Executive Committee is the PLO?s top body led by PLO Chairman and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, which convenes intermittently to discuss the Palestinian issue. ?The Executive Committee urged the American administration to back the principle of two states along the 1967 borders and ask the occupation authority, Israel, to halt colonial settlement activities,? an Executive Committee statement published on Saturday night in PA state media said. The Trump administration has refrained from taking clear-cut positions on both the two-state solution and settlements, bucking former President Barak Obama?s policies on the issues. Pray that Trump remain so busy with US politics that he has no time or desire to get involved in the Israel / Arab conflict
6. ‘Palestinian’ Leadership Congratulates North Korean Leader Israel Today News Aug 17th
Two peas in a pod, is how some might describe fellow despots Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. On Tuesday, Abbas made no secret of his affinity for the regime in Pyongyang by issuing a statement congratulating Kim on the occasion of North Korea’s “Liberation Day.” The holiday marks the fall of North Korea to what is today one of the most repressive regimes on the face of the earth. “The Korean people offered the most precious sacrifices for their freedom and dignity,” stated Abbas, ignoring the enormous suffering and oppression of the citizens of North Korea. Israeli Education Minister Naftali Bennett said he was not surprised by Abbas’ position, noting that it’s not the first time the Palestinian leadership has aligned itself with history’s most villainous regimes. “First Hitler, then S. Hussein, now Kim Jong-un. If you want to take a moral stand, check who the Palestinians support and do the opposite,” tweeted Bennett.
7. Israel’s Beaches Designated as Important Dolphin Hibitat Algemeiner News
The beaches of Israel have been designated as an important habitat for dolphins by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The IUCN, widely considered the world?s most authoritative international entity in the field of nature protection, is known for its ?red lists? of endangered species. The process involved convening a panel of experts that included representatives from every Mediterranean country. Israel was represented by Dr. Aviad Scheinin, director of the Dolphin and Sea Educational Center in Ashdod. ?This makes Israel proud.? Scheinin said.
