David’s Comment: We Are Called to Bless You
Genesis 12:1 – 2 And YHVH said to Abram, Go out of your country, and from your family, and from your father’s house into a land that I will show you. And I will make you a great
nation. And I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing.
Very soon after I became a Believer 31 years ago, I realised as I read the early history of Israel in the first few books of the Bible, that as a Messianic Jew, I am called to be a light and a blessing to the people of the nations. Since that time I have always taken that calling very seriously, to the extent that for much of the last 20 years, I have spent a third of the year away from my home and family, traveling to the nations to teach about Israel and the Church, doing my best to be a light and a blessing to my non Jewish brothers and sisters in Europe, the UK, the USA, Canada, Brasil, Africa, India, Asia, Sweden, and the South Pacific. I have also been sending out the Carmel Alert every Friday for almost 20 years, even when I am away from home ministering, which is not an easy task, but I am very serious to fulfill my calling, and I am looking forward to hearing the LORD say “well done good and faithful servant,” on the day that I stand before Him.
Josie has always reminded me that I need to be sure to pray for the people at the meetings and I do make that a priority at the end of most messages. We believe that signs and wonders should follow the preaching of the Word in our time, in the same way they did in the first 100 years of the Church. And we need to remember that in those days most of the people taking the Gospel out to the nations were Jewish. Over the years we have received a good number of testimonies from people who were healed after we prayed for them. I am not claiming to be some great Faith Healer, its is something that we all can and should do – pray for the sick and for those who have a serious need.
Now that we live in the era of easy international communication using Facebook, Messenger, WhatsAPP, Weechat and more, I am receiving an increasing amount of messages from people asking for prayer. Even though my time is full doing all of the things that I need to do every day, when I get a prayer request in an email or on one of the social media platforms, I stop what I am doing for a few seconds and record a short prayer and send it back to the person. I was watching a show on Christian TV the other day, and the host of the program was interviewing some guy who was sharing about the amazing healings that many people have received after he prayed for them. As I heard these testimonies, I sensed that the Holy Spirit was speaking to me about increasing the ministry of prayer for our family in the nations.
I am writing this comment to let all of our readers know that I am making myself available to pray for you. I am willing and I have the faith to pray for physical and emotional healing and for any need or serious person situation that you would like a Messianic Jew to pray for. I can’t promise you that the prayer will always come from Zion, as I am still out of the country a lot. If you are in need of prayer, please send me a brief text in English, with the details and I will record a personal prayer over the situation and send it back to you. The easiest way to do that is to connect with me on Facebook-Messenger to send the text message. In Asia you can send a text to my personal WeeChat ID – DavidSilver1955. My WhatsApp code is +972544284052. Please DO NOT send to the chat groups that I have set up to send out my video updates as we don’t want this to be visable to other people in the group.
I look forward to standing with you in faith to see the LORD answer your requests, but I must ask you to be sensible about this and only ask for prayer for things that are reasonable, and please keep your request as brief and to the point as possible. If I get flooded with requests that are not reasonable, it will take the time from praying for others who have a serious need. I will keep the prayer brief and focused as it is our faith and the goodness of the LORD that will bring the answer, not the length of the prayer.
I look forward to standing with you and blessing you in this way. It would also be good for my faith level, if you can send me a brief testimony when you receive your answer to the prayer. – David
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF.
Shabbat Shalom …… David & Josie

1. Anger Over Possible Ceasefire with Hamas INN News Aug 10th
Council heads and mayors in southern Israel are furious at Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman for their desire to seek a cease-fire with Hamas instead of launching a military operation to destroy Hamas and restore Israeli deterrence after Hamas launched about 200 rockets against Israel in under two days. The head of the Negev Regional Council, said that “no one has informed us of the cease-fire. There was no hesitation. Hamas determines when fighting will begin, and when it will end.” “We expect a military operation that will remove Hamas, or a comprehensive and long-term arrangement that will include all kinds of terror,” Idan added. The mayor of Sderot echoed the sentiments: “I understand the desire to reach negotiations, but in my opinion the cease-fire is a mistake. We will have to reach an operation, to eradicate this terror. The intermittent war is unhealthy for us and not good for the State of Israel,” he said. Pray that this will be the last time that the Israeli government enters a ceasefire agreement with Hamas
2. Gaza Calm But No Ceasefire in Place Jerusalem Post Aug 13
The Security Cabinet met on Sunday for the second time within four days to discuss the Gaza violence as well as UN and Egyptian efforts for a long-term truce. Israel demands nothing less than a complete cease-fire from Hamas, PM Netanyahu said before the weekly government meeting on Sunday. ?We are in the midst of a campaign against terror in Gaza,? Netanyahu said. ?It entails an exchange of blows; it will not end in one strike. Our demand is clear: a complete cease-fire. We will not suffice with less than this. As of now, we have destroyed hundreds of Hamas military targets, and in each round the IDF exacts an additional heavy price. I will not reveal here our operational plans; they are ready.? The prime minister said Israel?s objective is to restore quiet to residents of the South and the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip. ?This goal will be achieved in full,? he added. Israel is working on a 3 pronged approach to preparations for a military campaign in Gaza; an understanding by which calm is restored; and the possibility of approving a long-term and extensive cease-fire deal. Pray that the Gaza border remains quiet and a war does not become necessary.
3. PM Netanyahu Meets PM of Egypt to Discuss Gaza Times of Israel News Aug 14th
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly traveled to Egypt in May to meet with President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi. Quoting unnamed American officials, the reports said the focus of the trip was to discuss an arrangement in the Gaza Strip that would see the return of the Palestinian Authority to the coastal enclave, a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza?s Hamas rulers, the easing of the Israeli and Egyptian blockades on the Strip and steps to advance humanitarian projects there. They also discussed returning the Israeli citizens and bodies of two soldiers being held by Hamas, which currently rules Gaza, as well as the Trump administration?s peace plan, which has still not been made public. Pray that Israel does not give up any of the Promised Land as part of any peace agreement
4. Israel’s Defence Minister: Israel Will Re-Open Border Crossings if Gaza Remains Quiet Times of Israel Aug 14th
Israel will reopen the Kerem Shalom Crossing into Gaza and extend the Strip?s permitted fishing zone tomorrow morning, provided there is no violence from the coastal enclave until then, Israel’s Defense Minister has announced. The defense minister says this is meant to be a sign to Palestinians in the Strip that ?maintaining the quiet is first and foremost in the interest of Gaza residents.? The defense minister reached this decision during a meeting with senior defense officials Monday afternoon. ?During the discussion, it was decided that if the relative quiet along the Gaza border that began this week continues, the Kerem Shalom Crossing will reopen and the fishing zone will be extended back to nine nautical miles (10.4 miles) from the coast,? his office says. Pray that this is not another temporary ceasefire, but will hold for the long term, and that there will be no more fire ballons,
5. Drop in Support for 2 State Solution Times of Israel News Aug 14th
Support for the concept of the two-state solution among Palestinians and Israeli Jews is the lowest in almost two decades, according to a public opinion poll published on Monday. Forty-three percent of Palestinians and Israeli Jews back a two-state solution, which would include the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, the survey conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research and the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research at Tel Aviv University found. This was down from a similar poll conducted by the same groups a year ago, in which 52% of Palestinians and 47% of Israeli Jews said they favored two states. Arab Israeli support has largely remained ?stable and very high,? at 82%, the poll found. The poll published on Monday, which surveyed 2,150 Arabs from the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, and 1,400 Israeli Jews, was carried out in late June and early July. Pray that the 2 State Solution never becomes a reality
6. Israels Gestures to Hamas are a Mistake INN News Aug 15th
In light of the agreement being forged between Israel and Hamas, Education Minister and Security Cabinet member Naftali Bennett announced tonight the Jewish Home Party would oppose an agreement based on temporary calm, allowing Hamas to rearm and regroup for the next round of terror. Minister Bennett explained, ?This ?quiet? will award Hamas total immunity to replenish tens of thousands of rockets threatening all parts of the country, and allow them to launch a war against Israel at a time and under conditions most convenient to them. This will ultimately lead to the opening of two highly dangerous fronts, to the north and to the south – at a time determined by the enemy and under their conditions.? He stressed, ?After 130 days under attack and rocket fire, we must not reward terrorists without the return of our captives and our fallen. The terrorists will learn that terror pays, and Israel’s power of deterrent will be harmed.? Pray the Israel will not tolerate any breaking of the agreement by Hamas or any of the Gaza terror groups
7. Syria Rebuilding its Army World News Israel Aug 7th
While viewing an army exercise in the north, the defense minister warned that the Assad regime was building a bigger military than it had before the outbreak of the 2011 civil war. Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said Tuesday that the Syrians are rebuilding their land army so that it ?would return to its old dimensions ? and even be bigger,? according to Kan Israel News. Liberman was speaking after taking in an Armored Brigades exercise on the Golan Heights, after which he expressed full confidence in the IDF?s ability to repel any dangers from Damascus, now that Bashar al Assad?s regime has gained back most of its territory that borders Israel from rebel fighters. Pray that President Assad is not foolish and tries to attack Israel
