David’s Comment: It is Time to ‘Pass Over’ Easter (Repeat) Exodus 12:24-27
“Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants. When you enter the land that the LORD will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.'” Then the people bowed down and worshiped. (NIV)
As Jews and Christians around the world prepare to celebrate Passover and Easter this weekend, this year’s syncronised timing reminds us of how far, what we call ‘the Church’ today, has drifted from her original Biblical roots. The Church of the 1st century did not celebrate Easter, but followed the Biblical feast cycle, of which Passover is the first feast of each year. Ever since the 2nd century the Church has been largely cut off from her Biblical roots and Christianity has drifted further and further away from the practices and lifestyle of the early Believers. Which reminds me that I missed praying that you have a blessed New Year 10 days ago, as the 1st of Nisan is the Biblical New Year, rather that what is called Rosh ha Shana in September / October.
The Passover is the foundation of the events that Easter remembers. Passover is the story of the Israelites liberation from slavery in Egypt. GOD told Moses to instruct each family to select and sacrificed a spotless lamb and applied its blood to the door posts of their houses. Later that night the Angel of YHVH passed through all of Egypt and slayed the first born son of every family. When the Angel of YHVH saw the blood on the Israelites doors, he passed over the houses of the Jewish families and the first born Jewish boys were spared. Hence the name Passover. Even Pharaoh’s son was killed, prompting Pharaoh to stop testing God and he finally allowed Moses to lead the Israelites to freedom.
At Passover time approximately 1975 years ago, as the Jewish people were preparing to celebrate the festival, the Father in Heaven was also preparing a Passover of His own. As the Jews bought their lambs on the 10th day of the month of Nisan, God’s Lamb entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, thus fulfilling the messianic prophecy in Zechariah 9:9. Christians celebrate this day as Palm Sunday. The people inspected their lambs for 4 days and then slayed them at 3 pm on Nisan 14th. At 3 pm on Nisan the 14th that year the Lamb of God bled to death on a cross at Calvary in Jerusalem. It is very easy to see the unmistakable similarities between the Old Covenant original and the New Covenant fulfillment, which both occur at exactly the same time on the same date in the Hebrew calendar. The most important detail of the events of Nisan 14th, is that it was the blood of the family lamb that set the Israelites free from slavery in Egypt, and it is the blood of God’s Lamb, Yeshua, that sets us free from slavery to sin and from the wages of sin – DEATH.
The other point is that if ‘Passion week’ fulfills the Passover typology, then you cant have Palm Sunday and Good Friday because there is only 4 days between the 10th and14th Nisan. I believe that Psalm Sunday is correct, but a Friday crucifixion is not as it would make it 6 days that Yeshua was inspected. I believe that Yeshua was crucified on Wednesday afternoon, and was placed in the tomb just before the Passover Sabbath began (that was not a Friday Sabbath). That is the only way Yeshua could have been in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights. And that is the only sign Yeshua gave the people that He was the Son of Man – please read Matthew 12:39 – 40. If I am correct, then Christians have been remembering the wrong day since the Nicean Council in 325 AD. Also there is the issue of the name Easter. There is strong evidence that the word is related to Ishtar, an occultic goddess. Whether that is true or not, the sad fact is that because Easter has become so disconnected from Passover, for most people the most sacrificial act ever committed has been reduced to nothing more than a public holiday which focuses on chocolate eggs and rabbits. For so many, the connection to salvation and the promise of eternal life in the Kingdom of God through the death and resurrection of Yeshua, the Son of God and the Lamb of God has been lost. Wearing my evangelist hat, I believe that telling the Passover story, focusing on and explaining the power of the blood of the Lamb has much greater effect in reaching the lost in your families and friendship circles.
Several year ago I led a Passover celebration in Hong Kong and at the end 40 people stood to accept Yeshua’s sacrifice. This year I am leading one in Scotland – please pray that people will get saved. If 1900 years of this non-Jewish understanding of the Bible caused the Church to celebrate its important event – the New Covenant initiating crucifixion of the Son of God on the wrong day, then one must wonder “what else have we been doing wrong” ?
* Is the Sabbath Saturday or Sunday ?
* Are the Biblical Feasts still important for Christians ?
* Do all of the Ten Commandments still apply ?
* Did Yeshua come to abolish the Torah or to embody the Torah and demonstrate how to live in the Kingdom according to His Father’s design and instructions ?
Generally, my messages focus on the relevance of the restoration of the Jewish people to their land and to the Messiah. However I have realised for some time now that God is also in the process of restoring the Church to her Biblical roots. Each year more and more Christians celebrate the Biblical Sabbath, Passover, Shavuot (Pentecost) and the Feast of Tabernacles. Seems something is happening ……. God is preparing to re-establish His Kingdom on the Earth with His Son Yeshua, the Passover LAMB returning to Jerusalem as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, to sit on the Throne of David to be King of Kings and Lord of Lords. ( see my booklet – The Restoration of the Church)
Josie and I pray that you will have amazing opportunities to share the truth of Yeshua’s Passover sacrifice as you celebrate with you family and friends this weekend, and that the people most dear to you will come to know Him as their Lord and personal Saviour.
The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on all of the land given to the Jewish people by the GOD of Israel. Please pray that all Israel will turn back to their GOD. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for a breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray Divine protection for all of the soldiers in the IDF. Shabbat
Shalom and Hag Pesach Sameach ….. David & Josie h

1. Israel’s President May Call for Unity Government Maariv News Aprii 12th
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin is expected to ask Likud leader Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White leader Benny Gantz to form a unity government, Maariv reported. During the week President Rivlin met with party leaders, asking who they recommend for premiership. Pray that the new government will be formed very quickly under PM Netanyahu
2. In Spite of moon Crash, Genesis Project was a Success Arutz 7 News April 12th
Morris Khan, president of SpaceIL, remains upbeat and optimistic despite Beresheet’s failure to land safely on the moon last week. As millions of people watched in anticipation for Israel’s spacecraft to make lunar history. SpaceIL lost communication with the Beresheet capsule minutes before Israel was set to become the fourth country to land on the moon after a successful seven-week journey in space. “I’m happy,” the 89-year old South African-born entrepreneur said. “The flag of Israel is on the moon. The slogan of “Small country, big dreams” and Am Yisrael Chai (the nation of Israel lives) is on the moon. I think we’ve done something. We got around the moon, we landed on the moon. It just happened to be a hard landing.” “This is Beresheet (Hebrew for Genesis, the first of the five books of the Torah), and Beresheet was only the beginning. We are only at the beginning,” Khan stressed. “We did a very professional job. We were in space for two months. Beresheet behaved beautifully. The message for those watching is we tried and didn’t complete. It doesn’t mean that we stopped. We learned a lot and we proved a lot. We showed that we could get to the moon. There was a slight technical glitch at the very end at the landing. I don’t regard this as a failure. I regard it as a success. I am happy tonight, I feel the investment I made was worthwhile.”Pm Netanyahu was equally optimistic. “Write this down, in three years we will get another spacecraft on the moon, and this one will land in one piece,” PM Netanyahu said. “If at first, you don?t succeed, try again. We will try again, and next time we will just try to land more gently.” Pray that the cause of the crash will be found and rectified for the next attempt
3. Israel Attacks Another Iranian Base in Syria Times of Israel News April 15th
An Israeli satellite imaging firms releases images of a Syrian military base that was targeted in an airstrike on Friday night that was attributed to Israel. A large hangar and a number of buildings were destroyed in the attack on the base, near the city of Masyaf in the western Hama province, according to the satellite images analyzed and distributed by ImageSat International. The structures hit were reportedly used in the production of missiles. According to reports in Arabic, a number of Iranian ?elements? and pro-Iranian militants were killed in the alleged attack, and 17 people were injured. Syria?s official state news agency SANA said Israel targeted a military site in the area, but that Syrian air defenses intercepted the attack, downing some of the missiles fired. The regime mouthpiece said the interception resulted in the destruction of several buildings and the wounding of three ?fighters.? The area is known to house Iranian forces and their Lebanese proxy, Hezbollah. Israel does not comment on specific airstrikes in Syria, but does generally acknowledge conducting operations against Iran. Pray that Iran will wise up and stop trying to establish military bases in Syria
4. Trump Peace Deal Will Not Include Palestinian State Israel Today News April 17th
The long-anticipated details of the Trump Administration’s ?Deal of the Century? is likely to stop short of giving the Palestinians a state, but will focus on Israel?s security concerns.according to sources close to the White House. Sources say. The Trump Administration is expected to present their proposal in the coming months for a resolution to the long-entrenched Palestinian problem. Behind-the-scenes over the past two years, Trump?s Middle East adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner has been shuttling back and forth between Israeli and Middle East leaders in secret meetings, and officials have kept many of the details of their talks secret. However, recent comments from Kushner and other US officials indicate that Palestinian statehood will not be a condition for restarting peace talks. The proposal will include financial incentives to improve the lives of Palestinian Arabs, people familiar with the effort said the report. Arab officials around the Middle East have also confirmed that Kushner has suggested that economic opportunities for Palestinians will be a centerpiece of the plan. The plan will attempt to provide measures to satisfy Israeli security concerns. According to recent statements from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Israel will be supported in her plans to annex Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria. So far, though, we have not heard much about what the Bible calls a ?stumbling stone among the nations,? namely the status of Jerusalem. Pray that Israel will never give away land for the impossible promise of peace.
5. Leader of BDS Movement Refused Entry to USA United With Israel News April 12th
One of the founders of the anti-Israel boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement, will not be allowed into the United States. The American government denied Omar Barghouti?s entry at Ben Gurion Airport. Barghouti, who lives in Israel, was reportedly told by airline staff that he would not be allowed to fly to America, even though he had travel documents. Israel denied any connection to Barghouti being barred entry to America. While BDS? stated goal is to ?isolate? Israel culturally and economically, the movement and its adherents frequently face accusations of anti-Semitism based on their rhetoric and their single-minded focus on the world?s only Jewish state for condemnation, ignoring the host of nations with far worse human rights records, including several that have large ‘Palestinian’ populations, like Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan, Barghouti is a staunch critic of economic normalization between Israeli and Palestinian businesses, and supports the ?armed struggle against Israel. Many BDS demonstrations frequently feature extremists calling for Israel?s destruction, and Barghouti is known for spreading the movement?s propaganda in the United States and other Western countries. He was set to speak at Harvard University and at New York University. His planned trip to the United States also featured several meetings with lawmakers in Washington, D.C. In March of 2017, he was arrested by Israeli authorities for failing to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in income after he deposited money in a Ramallah bank account to hide it from tax authorities, Barghouti helped launch the BDS movement in 2005. He has called for the euthanasia of Zionists in the past, quoted as saying that ‘Palestinians’ have the right to ?resistance by any means, including armed resistance.? BDS has incited violent protests at university campuses in the U.S., targeting Jewish students. While protests start by focusing on Israeli policy in Judea and Samaria, they often spiral into anti-Semitic rhetoric, including calling Jewish students Nazis and chanting anti-Semitic slogans, as occurred just a week ago at a BDS event at the University of North Carolina. Pray that all BDS activists are similarly prevented from spreading their anti-Israel poison in all respectable nations.
6. No Palestinian State inTrump’s Peace Plan Jerusalem Post April 16th
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in an interview late last week that PM Netanyahu’s talk about annexing parts of Judea & Samaria won’t hurt USA President Donald Trump’s upcoming peace plan. ?I think that the vision that we?ll lay out is going to represent a significant change from the model that?s been used,? Pompeo said. He added that “we?ve had a lot of ideas for 40 years; they did not deliver peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Our mission goal is to put forward a vision. Ultimately, the Israelis and the Palestinian people will have to resolve this for themselves.” Netanyahu said in interviews during the last days of his reelection campaign that he will consider annexing parts of Judea & Samaria after the elections. The White House has remained silent on that issue so far. Pompeo did not provide new details about the plan, but said that the administration’s vision for peace is “different” and “unique,” and that it would be a vision “that tries to reframe and reshape what?s been an intractable problem that multiple administrations have grappled with – multiple administrations in Israel, as well.” Last week, Pompeo refused to endorse a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
7. Israeli Scientists Unveil First 3D Printed Heart Times of Israel News April 17th
Scientists in Israel unveiled a 3D print of a heart with human tissue and vessels, calling it a first and a ?major medical breakthrough? that advances possibilities for transplants. While it remains a far way off, scientists hope one day to be able to produce hearts suitable for transplant into humans as well as patches to regenerate defective hearts. The heart produced by researchers at Tel Aviv University is about the size of a rabbit?s. It marked ?the first time anyone anywhere has successfully engineered and printed an entire heart replete with cells, blood vessels, ventricles and chambers,? said Tal Dvir, who led the project. ?People have managed to 3D-print the structure of a heart in the past, but not with cells or with blood vessels,? he said. But the scientists said many challenges remain before fully working 3D printed hearts would be available for transplant into patients. Researchers must now teach the printed hearts ?to behave? like real ones. The cells are currently able to contract, but do not yet have the ability to pump. Then they plan to transplant them into animal models, hopefully in about a year, said Dvir. ?Maybe, in 10 years, there will be organ printers in the finest hospitals around the world, and these procedures will be conducted routinely,? he said. But he said hospitals would likely start with simpler organs than hearts. Pray that the Israeli scientists succeed in producing 3D human organs that will be suitable for transplants.
